A look back at The Blacksmiths Arms around 1934.

The Blacksmiths Arms started life as a farmhouse before becoming an alehouse sometime between 1861 and 1876. By 1892, Mrs Harriet Barnett had taken over the licence, and the name “The Blacksmiths Arms” was born. This old photograph shows the alehouse directly opposite the still-operational smithy, giving a brilliant glimpse into Quorn village life almost 100 years ago.
