Why we're grateful for the postal service and our shop.

Last year we tested the market circuit. The idea was simple: get out there, meet people face to face, sell some honey. What we discovered was that while we love chatting with customers, the logistics just didn't stack up for us.

Ten hours out of the house on a Saturday. Setup, breakdown, standing in the rain, waiting for the parade to finish. All of that on our one day off. With kids, jobs, dogs, and bees all needing us at home.

So we stepped back and asked ourselves what actually works. And the answer was already there. Our shop. Our website. The postal service.

We can pack an order in minutes. We can ship it anywhere in the UK. Customers can browse at their own pace, order when they want, pick up when they want. We get to stay home with our family. The bees get the attention they need. And honestly, it works better for everyone.

We're now focusing on events we'd attend anyway. The kids' school PTA. The Society for Abandoned Animals charity events. Short, meaningful, and they fit into our actual life.

If you want to find us, you'll find us here. In the shop. Online. Or at the events we genuinely care about. We're not going anywhere.

Not everyone fancies a hand covered in bees… but Hayley was completely in her element.

She quietly held her frame while the bees wandered all over her, and when we noticed she just smiled and said she loved feeling that gentle buzz as they moved across her hand.

Some people really believe there’s something healing about being this close to bees — the calm, the energy, the connection to nature.

For some it’s the stuff of nightmares… and for others, it’s a dream come true.

The ant farm incident. I still have nightmares. Gareth ordered queens off the internet. There was tubing. Everywhere. In the lounge. Round the furniture. It was chaos. Then they all vanished into the walls and I thought my problems were over. But no. Gareth missed them. Missed the ants. So naturally, the solution was to get bees. Lots of bees. Starting with two, becoming four, then fifty-four in one season during lockdown. His hobby spiralled. My life spiralled. Now we have a honey business and I'm somehow the one managing the social media for it. Life's funny like that.

Love these little check-in moments—just far enough apart that you really notice the shift in seasons. The surprise changes in nature, the light, the air… even the weather having a whole new personality.
