A little insight into some of the things we deal with behind the scenes… 😂
Over the last couple of weeks we’ve had a few complaints, but one in particular gave us a laugh.
A customer ordered a Chicken Tikka Mossala just before closing time on a very busy night. Not long after, he called to complain that it “tasted off” and insisted that, as a chef, he knew for a fact it had been frozen and reheated.
We explained that we don’t freeze our curries and everything is cooked fresh, but he wasn’t having any of it and demanded a refund.
The following day he called back and informed the manager that he’d kept some of the food and was planning to take it to the Food Standards Agency.
Manager: “Please do. We’re confident there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.”
He was also advised that because he ordered through a third-party delivery app, any refund request would need to go through them.
The next day, he appeared in person…
Customer: “I’m here for my money. That curry was frozen and reheated. I know because I’m a chef.”
Manager: “Since you’re here, come into the kitchen and have a look around. You’re welcome to inspect our freezers and see how many frozen curries you can find.”
Customer: “I’ve been working in a commercial kitchen all day. I can’t stand looking at another commercial kitchen right now!”
👀
Manager: “As I explained, you’ll need to contact the App regarding any refund.”
Customer: “They don’t believe me. They want a photo.”
Manager: “Okay… send them a photo?”
Customer: “I can’t. I don’t have the food anymore.”
Manager: “Right…”
Customer: “I took a photo of my desk, but it won’t accept it.”
At this point we were as confused as you probably are reading this. 🤣
Unfortunately, without the food, a photo of the food, or any evidence of an issue, there wasn’t much we could do.
He left promising to tell everyone never to come here again.
The good news? We’re still here. The curries are still fresh. And our desks remain completely unrelated to refund claims. 😂
