LET YOUR VOICES BE HEARD. Nothing is impossible if we work harmoniously!
Greetings to our valued customers of Redmires Cafe. Good morning! I hope you are all well.
Maybe you have been wondering why our little converted coffee trailer Redmires Cafe has not been back at Fairthorn Green yet. Our sincerest apologies for not been serving you lately with hot, cold drinks, cakes and pastries especially now that’s Spring time. But for your perusal, we are looking forward to serve you better in the near future by providing you with better facilities (planning permission allowing).
We are currently in the process of applying to the Peak District National Park for a full planning permission “Proposed er****on of an annex building (for commercial use cafe) including change of use of land for a cafe.”
As part of the consultation process by the Peak District National Park, “a copy has been sent to the District / Borough council and the Parish council / meeting for comment. If you wish to make any comments please write to the National Park Authority Office before the date 28th April 2023, please note the authority now permits members of the public and consultees to address its committees, including those which determine planning applications.”
At this juncture, may we kindly ask our dear patrons, if possible, to please take time to write your comments, good or bad, for or against, to the link below not later than the 28th April 2023. This way the voice of the public will be heard.
With sincerity, Redmires Cafe has enjoyed serving the general public since our opening last August and September 2022. Rest assured that we are not newbies serving the public in general as we are NHS care workers with combined work experience of nearly 40 years.
We have seen the devastation of Covid personally and professionally through the last 3 years. It’s truly heartbreaking indeed. This little cafe is our little solitude, our hideaway, our downtime from the stress and demands of work as it’s good not just for our own physical and mental wellness and wellbeing but also taking into consideration about the local population and tourists by providing a little area to meet up, sit down, chill and enjoy the tranquil views of the reservoirs, moors and the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Whilst we were here last year at Fairthorn Green, we saw the little joy and happiness of the people we have served and met. They were delighted to see little positive changes in the area that was neglected and uncared for in years. Others clapped their hands and cheered and gave us hugs when we opened our converted horse trailer “Redmires Cafe.” We are forever grateful for your continued support.
This is the reason why we are doing this - to continue to bring joy and happiness to the people from all walks of life and most importantly to the vulnerable persons, young and old and disabled, that unbeknownst to us are suffering silently. We have also seen and met these men and women and we heard their personal stories. That’s why we are doing this NOT FOR OUR OWN BENEFIT ALONE BUT FOR EVERYONE’S!
Equally we heard the voice of one or two unhappy people about the changes we allegedly brought or will bring. No disrespect but the area before Redmires Cafe long arrived was and will always be busy with traffic and sadly litters are found everywhere. This is beyond our control and we are not responsible for the uncaring and irresponsible people out there. This will always be a popular place for locals and tourists alike all year round. But we sincerely hear you guys and we will work continuously and responsibly to improve.
As you can see, we have improved the once unsightly, neglected, rubbished filled area with dirty needles, nitrous oxide canisters, car parts, contraceptives, etc. strewn across the overgrown corner plot of land, to a more appealing sight to what it looks like now - NO more dumping of waste and or fly tippers ever since! Another small but significant and positive changed to the area!
And the once fallen, ruined and scattered dry stoned walls once surrounding the plot of land are slowly being rebuilt back to its former glory. It may not be as perfect as the purists want it to be but they are slowly being restored to show that we, the people behind Redmires Cafe, value and care about the environment, its habitat, the people and above all respecting and carrying the legacy and history of the place where the once thriving Fairthorn Green Farm - a convalescent home “used from 1921-1934 before it was demolished”- bear witness to the development of the Redmires dams and used as children’s care home.
We shall endeavour to continue to preserve, improve and protect this corner area by planting more flowering plants and trees to ensure that more wildlife are protected and conserve accordingly.
Once a full planning permission is granted we will continue to offer the best service and experience that the general population is missing through the years in this area that has suffered greatly with out any positive changes like this proposed cafe amenity.
To reiterate, this is not only for ourselves but is also for the greater good. And as much as we have been and will always be disagreeing with everything - in life, religion, politics, creed, race, sexuality, relationship, etc - we firmly believe that this little cafe is a win win for everyone!
❤️LIFE IS SHORT. SO LET US ALL LIVE IN PEACE and HARMONY.😍
