The Black Horse has been part of Grassington’s story for generations.
We’ve celebrated milestones, welcomed walkers in from the Dales, shared laughter over pints, hosted family gatherings, and created a place where locals and visitors can come together. That’s what hospitality is all about.
But across the country, hospitality businesses are facing growing pressures. Pubs, restaurants, cafés and hotels are working harder than ever to keep doing what they do best: looking after people and supporting local communities. That’s why we’re backing the campaign.
The campaign is calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%, helping protect jobs, support local businesses, and ensure venues like ours can continue investing in the people and experiences that matter most.
Hospitality isn’t just about buildings. It’s about chefs, housekeepers, bar staff, suppliers, farmers, families, friends, and the communities that gather around a table together. That’s worth protecting!
If you’ve ever enjoyed a meal, a celebration, a weekend away, or a warm welcome at The Black Horse, we’d be grateful if you’d take a moment to support the campaign and sign the petition.
