Congratulations to Eddie T, the winner of our robot mower naming competition! 🤖⛳️

After plenty of great suggestions from our juniors, Eddie's entry — Orange Tankersley Trim — was selected as the winning name by this year's Club Captain, Nigel Gunnee, earning Eddie a FREE place on our next Junior Camp! 👏

Unfortunately, the robot mower has now headed back at the end of its trial period, but its time at the club certainly left an impression and inspired some creative thinking from our junior golfers.

A big thank you to everyone who took part, and congratulations once again to Eddie on his winning entry. 🌟

The course is looking absolutely fantastic at the moment ⛳️🌱

From the lush fairways to the smooth, true greens, the hard work and attention to detail from the greenkeeping team is there for all to see.

A huge congratulations and thank you to Mick and his team for the outstanding work they continue to do. Their dedication, early starts, and commitment to maintaining the highest standards have the course looking better than ever.

Next time you're out on the course, take a moment to appreciate the effort that goes on behind the scenes to create these playing conditions. 👏

Tournament day preparations underway ⛳️🌱

The greenkeeping team has been out early this morning making the final preparations for today's Seniors AM-AM. From mowing and rolling the greens to ensuring the course is presented at its very best, plenty of work goes on behind the scenes before the first groups tee off.

We'd like to wish all competitors the very best of luck and hope everyone enjoys a fantastic day of golf at Tankersley Park Golf Club.

Yesterday was a fantastic day at our May Junior Camp ⛳️🌱

It was great to get the juniors out of the practice areas and onto the golf course, putting their skills to the test and continuing to build confidence around the course. The effort, enthusiasm, and improvement from everyone involved was brilliant to see!

The juniors also had an important task during camp… helping name the robot currently on trial at the club 🤖

We’re trialling a new bit of kit on site 👀🤖🌱

We’ve teamed up with Russells to test a robot lawnmower on the practice area and the rough around the 1st hole.

The idea is simple: consistent cutting, less disruption, and a smarter way to keep those tougher areas under control while we focus on presentation and playability where it matters most. Early signs are promising — it’s handling uneven ground and longer grass surprisingly well, and quietly getting on with the job in the background.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on it over the coming days to see how it performs in real course conditions.

Now it just needs a name…

A few ideas so far:
* Grassassin
* Sir Mows-a-Lot
* The Turf Terminator
But we’re open to better suggestions 👇

Looking for something fun and active for the kids this school holiday? Our popular junior coaching camps are back this May!

Two sessions available:
🕘 Morning Session: 9:00am – 12:00pm
🕐 Afternoon Session: 1:00pm – 4:00pm

✅ Only 6 spaces available per session

These sessions are perfect for juniors of all abilities—whether they’re new to golf or have attended our camps before. A great chance to learn new skills, build confidence, and have plenty of fun during the holidays!
