Choose from over 100 Belgian & craft beers, and enjoy our fresh Belgian inspired menu, including mussels, meatballs, croques & waffles, along with ever changing specials. HUIS [House in Flemish] is an independent bar and restaurant in Southsea, Portsmouth, bringing Belgian beer and food culture together. Our beer range is extensive and ever changing with around 100 beers from Belgium & beyond. Our

draughts include our own exclusive HUIS wheat, pilsner and blonde beers. We have full à la carte options, many dishes are traditional Belgian dishes cooked in beer, including a wide selection of mussel and meatball dishes, and regular specials. We also offer a wide range of croques and waffles. All our food is homemade, always fresh and locally sourced. The décor is based around a 1960s living room with modernist features, and creates a welcoming atmosphere whether you’re making a quick pitstop, or spending the day or evening with us.

WE'RE HIRING!

We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Shift Manager (Part Time/Full Time options) to help lead our front of house team, and deliver outstanding customer service in a fast paced, welcoming environment!

What you'll do:
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences
- Learn our extensive drinks list, and have good understanding of our food menu
- Manage rotas and train new staff members
- Meet suppliers, help research new products & work on GPs
- Stock taking and ordering
- Perform maintenance tasks (such as cleaning, organising) during down time
- Manage daily opening and closing procedures (when on shift)
- Ensure high standards of service, and cleanliness
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally

What we're looking for:
- Previous supervisory or management experience in hospitality
- Long term stay (most of our team are 7+ years)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A positive, hands on attitude
- Ability to thrive under pressure
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Cellar experience
- Knowledge of beer
