We’re investing £5 million to improve and safeguard Swanage seafront

We’re working in partnership with Swanage Town Council to safeguard and improve the town’s seafront - making it safer, more accessible and better for residents, businesses and visitors.
This investment will support:
✅ Stabilising the Green Seafront affected by ground movement
✅ Enhancing public spaces with more seating, planting and improved access
✅ Creating upgraded facilities, including new beach huts and a new public space
✅ Improvements to Shore Road, including wider pavements, safer crossings and traffic calming

Together with the town council, we’re helping to protect a much-loved part of Dorset while supporting the local economy and improving the experience for everyone who visits.
