☀️ A little Sunday lunch update… ☀️

After keeping a close eye on the forecast, we’ve made the decision not to serve Sunday lunches this Sunday.

With another heatwave on the way, we feel it’s the right decision for both our kitchen team and our customers. Instead, we’ll be serving our main menu as normal, with plenty of lighter options to enjoy.

This also means that today marks the end of our Sunday roast season, and our famous Sunday lunches will now be taking their annual summer break until September.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for a roast over the past few months. Whether you came every week or squeezed in one last Yorkshire pudding before the sunshine arrived, we really appreciate your support. 💛

Now it’s time to embrace summer! Think long lunches, evenings on the patio, cold drinks, live music, beach days and all the best bits of the Gower season. ☀️🌊🎶

We’ll see you in September for the return of the gravy… but for now, let’s enjoy the summer together! 🍻💛

🎓☀️ School’s out for summer… and we’re ready to celebrate! ☀️🎶

The backpacks are away, the alarm clocks are off (for a few weeks at least! 😅), and summer on the Gower is officially here.

What better way to kick it off than with a weekend full of live music?

🎤 Friday – Wolfie from 6pm
🎸 Saturday – Guilty Pleasure from 4:30pm

Whether you’ve finished work, finished school, or you’re just looking for an excuse to enjoy a summer evening with friends and family, we’ve got the soundtrack sorted.

Good music, great company, delicious food and hopefully a little sunshine… that’s what summer at The Kings Head is all about. 💛

With only 2 Sunday lunches left before we take our summer break, tables are filling up fast and booking is essential.

When you give us a call, don’t forget to let us know you’d like a Sunday roast so we can make sure everything’s ready for you.

Nothing beats a proper Sunday with great food, good company and plenty of gravy… but only if you’ve got a table! 😉

💛 Dog of the Week 💛🐾

This week’s winner is the very handsome Honey 🥰

A 6-year-old Golden Labrador visiting us from Bristol, Harvey has been enjoying a well-earned getaway while helping celebrate Mum’s birthday and Mum & Dad’s anniversary 🎉

Like any seasoned Gower holidaymaker, Honey has spent his time chasing balls on the beach, exploring the coastline and, by all accounts, conducting a thorough investigation into any stray chips he might come across 🍟👀

He’s been an absolute pleasure to have around the pub and has charmed staff and customers alike with his gentle nature and waggy tail.

We hope you’ve had a fantastic stay, Honey, and we look forward to welcoming you back for more beach adventures (and chip hunting) very soon! 🐶💛

Booking is essential, and when you call, please make sure you let us know you’d like a Sunday roast so we can make sure we’ve got everything ready for you.

Happening today!!

Now that the temperatures have finally settled down, we wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to our incredible team 💛

The last few weeks have brought some of the hottest weather we’ve seen in a long time, packed patios, busy lunch services, overflowing ice cream freezers and plenty of thirsty customers 😅☀️

Through it all, our staff showed up every day with a smile, kept standards as high as ever, looked after our customers, looked after each other, and somehow kept the whole place running smoothly even when the heat was doing its very best to slow everyone down.

Anyone who has worked in hospitality knows that serving food, pulling pints and running around a busy pub is hard enough on a normal day — never mind during a heatwave!

We’re incredibly lucky to have such a hardworking, dedicated team. The warm welcome, friendly atmosphere and service that so many of you comment on is all down to them.

So if you’ve enjoyed a meal, a drink, a Sunday lunch, a stay, or simply a friendly chat over the last few weeks, please join us in giving our amazing staff a well-deserved round of applause 👏🥰
