Well the time has come, and I can't put off writing this post any longer.
After 10 years running The Strawberry Cushion, the time has come for me to hang up my apron and hand over the reins to the next owners.
This has been the most bitter sweet decision I have ever had to make, and I'm still not sure it's fully sunk in that I have now officially worked my last shift in the shop and locked the doors for one last time.
But fear not. The coffee shop isn't going anywhere, our wonderful Michelle has taken over as the new owner of The Strawberry Cushion, with today officially being her first day as the new owner. We know that we are leaving the shop in more than capable hands and that all our lovely customers will be well looked after.
Thank you to all our team members and customers over the years for making our time here truly memorable, it wouldn't have been the same without you all and we appreciate every single one of you.
The shop has been such a massive part of our lives over the past 10 years. It was always extra special to me since my grandparents owned the shop in the 80s and 90s, and I remember coming in as a little girl to see my Nana, and have been privileged enough to watch my own little girl come running through the same door too see me at work. Memories that will last a life time!
However as a lot of you know, I'm expecting our second baby girl in June, and with Lily growing up so fast, the time has come for me to slow down and take some time out to focus on our girls and family life for a while.
We certainly won't be strangers to the shop, and look forward to visiting as customers.
We wish Michelle all the best for the future as she starts this new chapter of her life.
Once again thank you all for everything over the last 10 years.
Much love
Joanne, Steven, Lily and Bump π x
