Well what can I say too this what a fab review ❤️
We've visited Bon Appetit somewhere between 10 and 20 times over the years, usually as part of a family bike ride along the trail between Devoran and Portreath, and it has become one of our favourite stops in Cornwall 🚴♂️☀️🍰
Originally, we came for the cakes... and what cakes they are!
As our children describe them, they're "cakes the size of your head" 😂
Every visit we're completely spoilt for choice. The selection is incredible and always looks freshly made, with everything from:
🍫 Huge chocolate cakes
🥕 Carrot cake
🍋 Lemon drizzle
🍪 Indulgent cookie pies and cookie cakes
🧁 Tray bakes and sweet treats
🍰 Scones, macarons and plenty more
The cakes aren't just large, they're genuinely delicious and clearly homemade with care.
Today was actually the first time we'd stopped for lunch, and we were just as impressed.
The children chose breakfast baps packed with bacon, sausage, egg and hash browns, and both declared them "amazing" 😋
My wife and I shared a flatbread and a Buddha-style bowl, both of which were beautifully presented and packed with fresh ingredients. The colourful vegetables, grains, dressings and little finishing touches, including edible flowers, made the food feel a cut above the usual café offering 🌸🥗
What really stands out is that everything feels freshly prepared, generously portioned and made with genuine pride.
Add in:

✅ Great coffee and drinks
✅ Fantastic homemade cakes
✅ Lovely atmosphere
✅ A perfect location for walkers and cyclists
..and it's easy to see why we keep coming back year after year.
Whether you're stopping for a quick coffee, a huge slice of cake, or a proper lunch, Bon Appetit is an absolute gem.
We'll definitely be returning again on our next ride.
