After much anticipation, we are pleased to confirm the return of our Golden Arrow service this February! 🍾

This premier Pullman dining service is the perfect setting for a special three-course meal with friends. The train recreates the fabulous Golden Arrow which once linked London and Paris, with the style and panache which made it one of the most glamorous and famous trains in the world 🚂

Tickets for our February Golden Arrow Luncheon trains are now available to book. Tickets for the rest of 2022 will be on sale from early February.

PROVISIONAL REOPENING DATE

The generosity of our supporters has meant our appeal target of £300,000 has been met and exceeded and now stands at more than £325,000. This is a fantastic achievement and thank you to all those who have contributed.

This success, plus a review of other funding sources, has allowed the Board to produce a very detailed financial model for the remainder of 2020.

Using this model alongside several other measures, we can now proudly announce a provisional reopening date of Friday 7 August 2020.

As many of you will know, this also happens to be our 60th anniversary and what better way to celebrate that milestone than to reopen for business. The first train on 7 August will be for members only and pre-booked on a first-come, first-served basis. We will release full details in due course.

The Bluebell Railway has announced it is suspending its train services and closing until further notice.

The heritage steam railway in Sussex had originally decided to stay open and run a minimal service this weekend with enhanced health protection measures in place but now says the national and global situation with coronavirus means it will have to close.

Bluebell Railway plc chairman Chris Hunford said: “The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and visitors remains our priority.”

He added: “Some people have been calling up asking if we’re open and saying they still intend to travel this weekend although several people have also called asking to defer their bookings. Taking all this into account and the latest Government advice, we have decided to suspend all services this weekend and the railway will close until further notice.”

During the closure, there will be no trains running and the shop and catering outlets will not be open to visitors although the railway’s online shop will continue to trade.

Mr Hunford said the railway would keep the situation under constant review in the coming days and weeks and assess the situation as it evolves.
