We have our second artist featured in our little bar gallery at Salt Box in Wadebridge. Lipe Syms Andrew Syms, a self taught Cornish Painter working in mixed media.

Andrew says of his work "Each piece is a spontaneous creation, never planned, unfolding into the unknown. He cites the great St Ives Modernists Patrick Heron, Peter Lanyon, Sandra Blow and Terry Frost as influences on his practice."

We love the way the work pops out at you.. they are intriguing and fascinating..... and the blue of our walls is the perfect backdrop.

It has recently come to our attention that not everyone knows that you can pop into .wadebridge and head straight upstairs just to have a drink if you like. We are friendly and its pretty chilled upstairs and there are lots of sparkly lights.

The second of our featured wines is a Durif from Growers Touch - Australia.

Each bottle features the hands of the Grower on the front.. this bottle belongs to Isidoro Gugliemino and the bottle pays homage to the nurture he has bestowed upon the vines.

The wine is 100%Durif (also called Peit Sirah in the states) with aromas of blackberry and mulberry and a hint of vanilla and spice. The wine has spent a short amount of time in oak which gives it its richness. The palate is a delicious combination of red and blue fruit complimented with the tannins Durif is renowned for.
