Whitby Swing Bridge will be closed from 6:00pm on Tuesday 30 June until 2:00am on Wednesday 1 July while urgent works are carried out to resolve ongoing issues with the bridge.

Please allow extra time for your journey and use alternative routes where possible.

Whitby Swing Bridge will be closed from 6pm tomorrow, Tuesday 30 June to 2am on Wednesday 1 July while we carry out urgent works try to solve issues with the bridge.

A shuttle bus will run between 6pm and midnight tomorrow to transport from both sides of the bridge.

This work follows an emergency closures to keep people and vehicles safe because the two sides of the bridge have not shut as they should.

The bridge is currently open to pedestrians and vehicles.

What a weekend it’s been! 🖤

With it being a busy Goth / Bank Holiday weekend, we’ve been absolutely non-stop here.

To top it off, our glass washer has broken… so every single glass has been washed by hand & we have had to move on to plastic 😅

It’s been tough going, but we’re pushing through and doing our best to keep everything running smoothly.
