Believe it or not the Whitchurch Canal festival is still going ahead this year !!

The dedicated and determined team of organisers need volunteers to help hosting the event …. spread the word!

🚤 Volunteers Needed for the Whitchurch Canal Festival 2026! 🚤

The countdown is on to the Whitchurch Canal Festival, taking place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026, and we need your help to make it another fantastic community event.

Whether you can spare a few hours or a full day, we'd love to hear from you. We are looking for volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to support a range of roles across the festival weekend.

Volunteer opportunities include:

⭐ Welcoming visitors
⭐ Providing information and directions
⭐ Supporting activities and attractions
⭐ Helping with event set up and clear down
⭐ Assisting with displays and exhibitions
⭐ General event support throughout the weekend

No previous experience is needed. Just bring enthusiasm, a friendly smile and a willingness to get involved.

The Whitchurch Canal Festival is one of the town's biggest community events and couldn't happen without the support of our amazing volunteers.

Just to remind everyone that we are still very much open here at The Willeymoor Lock Tavern.
Whilst our trade has been massively impacted by the Whitchurch Breach on the Llangollen canal, we are currently still open every day:-
12pm -3pm lunchtime
and
6pm - 11pm evenings
