Lunch alone - sat in the old town of Benidorm, hasted in by a pushy salesman restauranteur who forgot my glass of wine thrice.

Apart from that the oysters, wow, you might say an oyster is an oyster or swear by a lindisfarne oyster or I don’t know whatever snobbery but these oysters were the stuff, served so incorrectly with a cheap bottle of red wine vinegar and hot sauce? Doesn’t matter they were ten out of ten

Baby squid is baby squid in Spain I’ve found, they obviously share the recipe for te coating some mix of flour, cornflour and spices but best believe I’m always ordering eat

Some meatballs, very good, some mushrooms very good

What can I say I wish I got the name of the restaurant, if you’re ever in the old town look for one man doing nothing and the rest of the staff doing all the hard work

Triple cooked chips -

1) get some good potatoes (Maris piper if not something better, agria, Yukon gold)

2) boil them, I’m steaming here but trust me boil them, maybe 10-15 minutes

3) deep fry in oil/fat, first at 140 degrees Celsius for 8 minutes, then fry again at 185/190 degrees Celsius for two and a half mins. Cook time seem to long? Reduce it! You’re the chef
