Some of you know our story, but many don’t. 🙏
The Old York Tea Room wasn’t built by investors or big businesses. It was built by two local people who emptied their savings account, took a deep breath, and decided to believe in a dream.
Every penny we had went into those doors. There was no safety net. No backup plan. Just hope, hard work, and faith that our community would believe in us too.
There were sleepless nights. Days we questioned everything. Moments we wondered if we’d made the biggest mistake of our lives.
But every cup of tea you shared with us, every slice of cake you ordered, every kind word, every recommendation, every smile… you kept us going. You helped turn our dream into something real.
Now we’re doing something that honestly terrifies us all over again.
We’re opening The Old York Cake Shop
And if we’re being completely honest… we’re scared.
We’re risking everything we have, again. Every bit of money we’ve worked so hard to save is going straight back into another dream. It’s exciting, but it’s also frightening. There’s no guarantee it will work. No promise we’ll get our savings back. Just the same belief we had the first time—that if we pour our hearts into something, maybe it’ll be enough.
We’re not a chain. We’re not backed by a corporation.
We’re just local people, chasing a dream in the city we love.
So if you’ve ever visited us, supported us, told a friend about us, or simply wished us well, thank you. You have no idea what it means.
And if you can support our next chapter—whether that’s visiting the cake shop, sharing this post, or simply cheering us on—we’d be endlessly grateful.
We know times are hard for everyone, and we never take your support for granted.
Here’s to taking another leap of faith… and hoping York catches us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. ❤️
