Today, Tuesday the 7th of April, is our last day that the Morning Star will be open for food as a winter restaurant.
Tomorrow evening at 19.30 we will host the last winter quiz night for the KATS here, to help them a last push to reach their goal of 2000 euro for the winter!!! We are close!

I would like to say a big massive thank you to each and everyone of you who supported us during the winter months and helped creating new memories! We could not have opened if you didn't support us. So again, thank you a million.

Jerry, me and the kids are taking a little break and time off the get the place ready for the summer and you will all see us again around the first week of May, when we open the Morning Star as a summer restaurant!

This year all Jerry's signature dishes will be available at the Morning Star! And we will be after 6 years working together as a family again with also the kids next to our side. I am sooooo looking forward to this!

With both pain and happiness in our hearts, we would like to share some important news with you.

As of today, the official papers have been signed, and Jerry’s Elliniko in Katelios has been sold.

This was not an easy decision. Jerry’s Elliniko has been so much more than just a restaurant to us...it has been our life for the past 22 years. It is the place where we poured all our passion, where countless memories were made, and where our children quite literally grew up — from sleeping in a corner as babies to becoming part of the team as a proud waitress and waiter.

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank each and every one of you. Your support, your smiles, your loyalty, and your love created the unique “Jerry’s Elliniko feeling”, something truly special that we will carry with us forever. We are endlessly grateful for the role you have played in our journey.

At the same time, we would like to wish the young new owners (local boys), Sebastianos and Kostas, the very best of luck in their new adventure.

BUT… there is also exciting news!

Starting from summer 2026, you will once again be able to experience the Jerry’s Elliniko feeling, this time at the restaurant Morning Star Katelios. All of Jerry’s beloved recipes, will be there… and even better, we Jerry and Maaike, will be there too!

Together with our amazing children, Alexia Avgerinou and Leonidas Avgerinos, we will once again welcome you as a family, making sure you enjoy great food, warm hospitality, and unforgettable moments by the sea.

We truly hope to see you all again soon, and to continue this journey together in a new place — with the same heart, the same passion, and the same family spirit.

Can't believe it's already Crochet Thursday again! But today I have an idea.... We all come to CROCHET EASTER EGGS, that we can sell at the Easter Fayre of the FLIK on Saturday the 28th of March.
I have a bit of stuffing material, but if you have an old pillow, that we can use, that would be brilliant! I have several hooks and colours of yarn, so let's have some fun!
If you don't know how to crochet?? Don't worry! I can teach you!
If you don't want to crochet?? Don't worry! I have some ready made easter eggs, that you maybe want to embroider...
And if you don't want to do any of this....DON'T WORRY...just come along and HAVE FUN!!!!
