WHO IS CARSTEN MARTENS?

From the age of 15, Carsten had been playing guitar and singing in various bands. It wasn’t long before he became a fully fledged multi-instrumentalist, and the diversity of his musical diet and upbringing has led to the cultivation of a sound, and an attitude towards music that is uniquely his own. With the punk ethos coursing through his veins, Carsten refuses to depend on libraries or samples, and it shows in his raw, DIY productions. Above all, it’s about creative freedom, and expression in its purest form.

The DJ and producer has played in clubs & events across Germany and abroad, including venues and events like Volar (HK), Mudita (HK), Clockenflap (HK), Glow (TH), Observatory (VT), Pepperclub (CN), Nachtflug (DE), Tresor (DE), Warehouse (DE), Kiesgrube (DE) and Pasha Ibiza. He has played alongside a number of heavyweight artists: Damian Lazarus, Kenny Glasgow, Tube & Berger, Nakadia, Oxia, YokoO, Viken Arman, Felix Da Housecat, Carl Cox to name just a few.

Carsten also runs his own independent electronic underground record label, Double Malt Records, which features a talented roster of both local and international artists, which is now continued as ‘souta’.

Carsten's single ‘Sleepless’ showcases his ability to combine underground elements with dreamy grooves to an intimate and big tune at the same time. One of the many reasons we are thrilled to have him play with us at [mukə].

Hip hop yoga will be instructed by Roxanne with dope Hip Hop sounds by D-Yeet!, Richiewild, and FireAux followed by a delicious brunch with healthy options and traditional Mexican food.

About our Yoga Instructor Roxanne:
Originally from South Africa, Roxanne Wentworth has been teaching yoga internationally for over 5 years and practicing since the age of 8. As a former dancer, each class she teaches incorporates intelligent and creative sequencing and infuses various styles to create a dynamic and fun practice. Teaching at a multitude of studios around Hong Kong and events such as IRIS Festival and Wellness360HK, each class caters towards a varied arrange of abilities and levels.
Roxanne believes that everything we are looking for can be found within and strives to infuse this sense of empowerment into every class. As a teacher passionate about seeing others succeed, she enjoys challenging her students in a supportive and fun manner and hopes to set an example both on and off the mat by leading a holistic lifestyle. First and foremost, Roxanne wants her students to finish her class feeling better than when they began.
