A fundraising campaign has been launched to support 20-year-old Veronica Walsh, who is currently undergoing intensive spinal cord rehabilitation treatment in Florida following a life changing spinal cord injury caused by a blood clot earlier this year.

Veronica has strong family ties to Ballina through her father, Shane Walsh, who was born and raised on Creggs Road.

Despite the challenges she faces, Veronica remains determined to regain her mobility and independence. Her family has been told she has a chance of walking again, but ongoing specialist rehabilitation treatment is vital to her recovery.

The costs involved are substantial, and the family's medical insurance will not cover the rehabilitation treatment. Having already exhausted their savings, Veronica's family is now relying on the generosity of the public to help fund her continued care.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support Veronica's rehabilitation journey and give her the best possible chance of recovery.
