Meeting House

In the meeting house you will find fresh and frozen produce from local farms prepared by local business and other goods from farther afield provided by Irish wholesalers and suppliers. It is our hope to honour them, and all of those who shared in its restoration as a multi-denomination community centre, in the way we have decorated the shop with its clear references to a shared faith, but more imp

ortantly in the way we operate as a business: It is our goal to live up to the instruction given to the early church in Colossus by providing a warm and welcoming service, high quality and fairly priced produce and by treating everyone who comes into contact with the business with love and respect. The building now used by the Meeting House Farm Shop and Café was built in 1841. It was officially closed as a church in 1973 and quickly fell into disrepair. In 2002 it was taken over by Broomfield Anaghafarcon Development Group who replaced the windows and roof, added the 1st floor balcony and the extension to the rear which included a kitchen, toilets and office space. For 11 years the building was home to An Eaglais, a Community / Tourist Amenity Centre (a restaurant for the general public, a craft & gift shop, a community meeting area, a heritage centre and a tourist information area). An Eaglais closed its doors in early 2014 and the premises was again upgraded and reopened as ‘The Meeting House’ by IGWT as part of their turkey and poultry processing company.
