It was lovely to meet Mary, fundraiser for Daisy Lodge, and hear more about the wonderful work they do supporting families affected by cancer. ❤️

Mary very kindly gave me a lovely bundle of Daisy Lodge merchandise for our upcoming fully booked Italian-themed W**e Night, as part of Dining Room’s 10th birthday celebrations! 🇮🇹🍷

We’re so proud to be celebrating this milestone by supporting such a wonderful cause, and we can’t wait to welcome our guests for what promises to be a very special evening.

❤️ BEHIND THE DREAM…

Ten years ago, Kevin and I stood looking at what was, for us, a blank canvas. We had a dream of creating something of our own and sharing our love of food and hospitality here in Castlebar.

Little did we know just how much Dining Room would become part of our lives, or the incredible people we would meet along the way. From our wonderful staff to the customers who have become friends, we feel so lucky to have built something that means so much to us.

As we look back on the past decade, we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us and been part of our journey. ❤️

We’ve also been completely overwhelmed by the interest in our 10th Birthday Italian W**e Night in aid of Daisy Lodge. We’re so proud and delighted to say that the evening is already fully booked! 🥂🇮🇹 Thank you so much for your incredible support — it means the world to us.

🥂 10 YEARS OF THE DINING ROOM 🥂

On 10th November 2016, we opened the doors of Dining Room for the very first time. Little did we know what the next ten years had in store for us!

What started as a dream has grown into so much more than a restaurant. It's been a journey of hard work, long days, incredible food, wonderful people and countless memories made around our tables.

Along the way, we've had the pleasure of working with some fantastic staff, welcomed so many lovely customers, and made friendships that have lasted well beyond Dining room.

As we approach our tenth birthday, we find ourselves feeling incredibly grateful for the loyal customers who have supported us from all across Mayo over the years. Your continued support has meant more to us than we can ever put into words.

We believe strongly in giving back to the community that has supported us so generously, and we want our tenth birthday to be about more than just celebrating ourselves.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing memories, running some birthday promotions and celebrating this special milestone with you. And, of course, a birthday isn't a birthday without a party! 🥳

Our actual birthday celebration will take place on Tuesday, 10th November, with a very special Italian-themed W**e Night in aid of Daisy Lodge Mayo.
100% of ticket sales will go directly to Daisy Lodge (Cancer Fund for Children).

More details coming soon, but for now, we simply want to say thank you — to our customers, our staff, our suppliers, our friends and everyone who has been part of our journey.

Here's to ten years of food, friendship and memories, and to the wonderful community that has helped make it all possible. ❤️

Tomorrow we welcome a new season at Dining Room with the launch of our Autumn Menus.

As the seasons change, so does our menu — bringing together beautiful seasonal ingredients, fresh produce from sea and land, and the flavours we love about autumn.

Our two-course menus are:

✨ Dining Room Menu – €38
✨ Signature Menu – €53

From Keem Bay smoked salmon and Killala hake, to roast chicken, Wicklow venison, Irish lamb and Prime Irish steak, there’s plenty to tempt you.

We are absolutely delighted and incredibly humbled to share that Dining Room has received TWO nominations in the prestigious Food & W**e Awards 2026 — for Best Restaurant and Best Chef – Connaught. 🥂

This year feels particularly special as we celebrate 10 years of Dining Room. Ten years of cooking, creating, learning, laughing, challenges, celebrations and, most importantly, welcoming so many wonderful guests through our doors. ❤️

To have our little restaurant named alongside some of the finest restaurants and hotels in the country is something we never take for granted. We are incredibly grateful to our amazing team, our loyal customers and everyone who has supported us along the way.

Just a little heads-up that we will be taking our annual leave from Saturday 4th July and will reopen on Wednesday 15th July.

During this time, I won't have access to the work phone, so the best way to make a reservation is through our website. I will be checking emails occasionally, but responses may be slower than usual.
