Castlerea Food Fest is a series of foodie events happening during this summer's Castlerea Rose Festival.

The Food Fest is kicking off with a fantastic Sunday Food Fair in the Hub on the 26th of July.

On Monday the 27th, we will have an award winning TV Chef in our Live Cookery Demo.

There will be a host of other fantastic events, organised by local food businesses, running throughout the week.

To celebrate our 45th year in business, we have decided bring a bit more joy and beauty into our corner of the world.

We are celebrating the Hand Made, and working with local artists to mark this milestone for Bennys Deli!

Our first comission is a huge mural by Ballintubber Artist, Lisa Forde.

Lisa worked through a heat wave, at the top of a scisor lift, to create something truely unique and beautiful for us. The design was all hand draw and painted, from a small sketch Lisa came up with a few months back.

We are so delighted with how it turned out and hope that our customers and neighbours will love it too!

Lisa is a multi talented artist and has her own tattoo business in Roscommon town as well as doing paintings, prints and murals. She was a dream to work with! .tat2

Thank you to our neighbours for lending us their car par spots this week, to Ros Hire for the use of the lift, Stephen our painter for the background and our neighbours in Arrow Hardware for the paints and materials!

Watch this space for our other art projects later in the year.

We are delight to welcome Award Winning TV Chef and Castlerea Native, Orla Mc Andrew to the Hub to host the Demo.

She will be cooking dishes based on her recent cook book, that will inspire us to 'Love Our Larders' and encourage us to cook up a feast with simple ingredients we would have at home.

Always a great night out, we will have wine pouring and prizes to win to add to the fun!
