🌸 Want to help brighten up Virginia this summer? 🌸

Virginia Tidy Towns is holding a community meeting to form a new committee and welcome anyone interested in helping keep our town looking its best.

One of the first projects will be planting and maintaining the town's flower planters for the summer season 🌺🌼

Do you want to make a difference to Virginia?

Would you like to learn more about Lough Ramor, water quality, wildlife and the natural environment around Deerpark Forest?

Virginia Town Team, in collaboration with Dundalk Institute of Technology, is launching , a community citizen science programme designed to monitor and protect Lough Ramor.

8th May 2021 was our very first day trading,if you can bare to listen to my wee waffle there, i share some insights and maybe even inspire someone else to take a leap of faith!

A little adventure of a different kind this weekend

Do you know when some things just grow legs.....

Like somebody says something to you in passing and it keeps swirling in your mind for days or you spot something that inspires you to take action.

Well thats more or less what happened 🤭🤭
participating in a tiny forest initative since last October and a lot of support from wider community(
Virginia Mens Shed,local counciller and local council and lots of lake loving locals ) we planted just over 100 native trees along the lakeshore of Lough Ramor
From willow to rowans to hazel,holly whitethorn blackthorn &crap apples trees

Be careful what you wish for 🤭

I vividly remember chatting with my sister many many years ago,we were probably only 10 or 11 years old at the time.
Anyway it was the 'when i grow up i want to..'.kinda story .

Well my version was 'when i grow up i want to live beside a lake and drive a jeep' not sure why tbh.

Nowadays I am not that bothered about driving a jeep but I am only delighted to have this on my doorstep.

Shared this sunset with my little one mid week -absolute gold!
