That was a fun day today. Had fun talking with SOME of the passengers from the Nieuw Statendam. I nearly said ALL but that would have been impossible and a terrible exaggeration. So I’m awfully sorry to the people who didn’t get to talk to me or get to listen to me talking nonsense. 😂 but seriously though, I really hope they enjoy the rest of their Cruise.

We had a few wee giftie items in our tiny little pop up. So happy to be able to add something like this to the town and hopefully this will encourage more people to get onboard (pun intended) and think about potentially open something nice in our town. Keep her lit as they say..

We’re honoured to share that The Ardara Distillery has been named Best Irish Craft Distillery at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition, one of the world’s most respected spirits competitions.

This recognition is a significant milestone for our team and a proud moment for Donegal. Ardara is shaped by the Atlantic coast, the surrounding landscape, and Donegal’s rich distilling heritage. To see that reflected and recognised on an international stage in Tokyo is very rewarding.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us on this journey, our dedicated team, our local community, our partners, and all those who have chosen to share and enjoy our spirits.

Opening up a wee pop up shop tomorrow everyone. The most beautiful framed photos from Killybegs Wildlife. We really just want to get the lights on and get a wee business going on the Main St in one of our buildings. Marie’s photographs are really special. More cruise ships coming in the week. Great to see Killybegs with so many visitors again. Starting to really feel like summer, despite our weather.

They tell me they do be working. 😂 (yes I said ‘do be’ on purpose).. absolutely brilliant photo anyways.

We’re open today, bank holiday Monday 12:30/7:30pm. Yesterday was exceptionally busy, so apologies to anyone trying to phone in an order. We just weren’t able to get to the phone at certain points of the day. I did ask someone to answer the phone and explain this at one stage and that definitely was not my best idea. It’s hard to explain to someone over the phone why you can’t take their order but if that queue had continued all day we definitely wouldn’t have been able to keep up with it. Even longer queue than on the shore road.. If this makes sense!

I will do better today. It’s not a great day weather wise so please do call again and we will try our best to have it ready for whatever time suits you.

Fab Ronan. Love seeing so many or organic vegetables and fruit producers in our area. We need to keep supporting all our local businesses.

Summer is finally arriving at Shy By Nature Farm and we’re getting ready for the first veg boxes of 2026 going out on Friday 19 June. Plus news about Soil and Soul Tuesdays, Saturday Volunteer Days, and the Donegal Garden Trail.

I had a day of painting a door pink yesterday. 💕I’m trying to open a pop up shop here on the Main St in the interim, until we hopefully get the little coffee and crepes business going. Hopefully the doors had dried before this amazing heavy rain I’m listening to arrived. 🙈

Surprisingly the weather doesn’t look too bad for the rest of the day now. According to my weather app anyways. But don’t forget you can take your food across to the harbour bar and have a drink or a mineral with your fish and chips. ❤️

Hope everyone has the loveliest weekend regardless of the weather. Unfortunately we just can’t control it..
