A performative journey which takes you to the Irish bog landscape through scent, created in response to the cessation of Ireland’s peat harvesting industry.

Luke Casserly collaborated with renowned perfume maker Joan Woods to create a unique distillation of the Midlands bog as the starting point for an olfactory encounter which looks at our human relationship to place. Dedicated to the future of our broken landscapes – in the hope that by listening to them, we might be able to better understand them. Distillation premiered as part of Dublin Theatre Festival in 2023, and has since toured extensively both in Ireland and internationally.

Presented as part of the Earagail Arts Festival 2026.

▪ How’s Your Father? – Starring Conal Gallen ▪
Saturday October 24

“How’s Your Father?” is a non-stop, laugh a minute riot of craic, confusion and constant laughter!

It’s the hilarious comedy play from the cream of Irish comedy, father and son team, Conal and Rory Gallen, who have written probably their funniest comedy play to date.

A B&B! A Landlady! A Priest! A Jockey! A Mystery!

Bridie Murphy opens Bridie’s Boutique B&B, much to her husband Willie’s bewilderment.

“This is a B&B which has to be seen to be believed!!” – Tripadvisor

With their young, confused neighbour, Dick, having some family problems, Bridie steps in to help. There’s only one thing for it. Bring in the Priest.

Which only serves to make things even more confusing!!

It’s a side-splitting tale of love, deceit, mystery, bad food and a bit of “How’s Your Father” thrown in for good measure!

▪ We Have Him Back! - Saturday September 5 ▪

A historically accurate and deeply human account of the events surrounding the three funerals of Frank Stagg who died after 62 days on hunger strike.

Written by Brían MacSuibhne and set in 70’s Leigue Cemetery, Ballina, Co. Mayo.

Developed with the blessing and factual input of the Stagg family, We Have Him Back! tells the story of a mother watching her son die, a wife confronting official falsehoods, a sister struggling to understand, and a brother whose love and resolve would not allow history to be buried in silence. Weaving documented conversations, world and national news, music, and life in 1970s rural Ireland, grounds the personal tragedy into a wider historical moment.

A major heritage and commemorative project, exploring themes of family, human rights and Section 31 State censorship. It is intended for audiences across generations: those with living memory and those encountering this tragic history for the first time.

▪ Hello Charlie - Friday September 25 - Saturday September 26 ▪

Hello Charlie follows Sisters Maeve and Kate. They have fled their past trauma in Derry and now live in London. Hedonistic Maeve binge-drinks to oblivion; brittle Kate sees history repeating itself. But Maeve dodges culpability for her drunken antics; the blame clearly lies with her beloved, inebriated alter-ego: Charlie.

A laugh out loud dark comedy that is courageous and fiercely original in its portrayal of addiction.

Hello Charlie was developed as part of The Lyric’s New Playwrights Programme. It was shortlisted for The Women’s Prize for Playwriting, and a finalist for the inaugural Victoria Wood Playwriting Prize for Comedy.

Written by Caoimhe Farren

Produced by SkelpieLimmer, Front and Centre, and An Grianán Theatre in association with Pavillion Theatre, Fishamble, and The Lyric Theatre Belfast.

▪ The Cable - Thursday October 29 ▪

The Cable presented by Siamsa Tíre, is a powerful new one-man drama written and performed by Mike Kelly (The Martian, The Last Kingdom), directed by Aidan Dooley (Tom Crean: Antarctic Explorer).

Set against the monumental laying of the Transatlantic Cable on Valentia Island in 1866, The Cable blends searing humour, haunting music, and unforgettable storytelling to explore themes of emigration, hope, and connection. Reviewers have called it “a new Irish masterpiece fit for a modern audience… visually breathtaking… definitely a hit that deserves its place in the Irish theatre canon.”

The historic cable, stretching over 3,000 kilometres from Valentia Island to Heart’s Content, Newfoundland, revolutionised communication, shrinking transatlantic messaging from weeks to minutes. As the world changed, so too did the lives of ordinary people — a truth vividly brought to life in The Cable.

“This production is about more than a piece of history,” says writer-performer Mike Kelly. “It’s about the way we reach for each other across distances, how technology transforms us, and the enduring ties of family and love.”

Director Aidan Dooley added: “The Transatlantic Cable is a symbol of global connection, and this play brings that down to a deeply personal level — showing how progress and pain often walk hand in hand.”

The Cable promises to stir the soul and spark reflection, an extraordinary experience featuring live music, masterful storytelling, and a powerful message that resonates.
