If you’ve visited us recently, you may have noticed something a little different about The Garden House.👀
Our café building is currently undergoing a traditional re-thatching project, with the original straw roof being carefully replaced with a new reed thatched roof✨
The work is being carried out by Mike and his team from thatchingireland, specialist roof thatchers with over 20 years of experience preserving and restoring traditional thatched roofs across Ireland.
Work began in January and we’re now approximately halfway through the transformation. The new reed roof will not only preserve the character of the building but will provide a more durable and sustainable roof for years to come.
A huge thank you to Mike and his team for their incredible craftsmanship 🙏
