A Small Price Update
To our wonderful customers,
Firstly, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you for your incredible support over the past three years. Because of your loyalty and encouragement, Rita's Kitchen has grown beyond anything we could have imagined.
As a result of this amazing support, our turnover has now reached the threshold where we are required to register for VAT. As Rita's Kitchen operates as a community volunteer-run social enterprise, we are unfortunately unable to absorb the additional cost of VAT ourselves.
In addition, like many businesses, we have seen our operating costs increase significantly, with our costs rising by around 20% over the past 18 months. Our margins have always been very small, and every euro we earn helps us continue serving our community and sustaining the work we do.
For these reasons, we have had to make the difficult decision to increase some of our prices.
We know that no one welcomes price increases, and this was not a decision we made lightly. Our commitment remains the same: to provide great food, a warm welcome, and a space that brings our community together while remaining true to our social enterprise values.
Thank you for your understanding and, most importantly, for your continued loyalty and support. Every visit, every cup of coffee, and every meal helps us continue making a positive difference in our community.

Come along and show your support at our Coffee Morning this Sunday!

We’re raising funds for Special Olympics Ireland to help athletes take part in the Special Olympic Summer Games—and we’re especially proud that our very own Martha Jones will be competing in athletics!

Join us in Rita’s Kitchen from 10:00am to 12:00pm Sunday 10th May for a morning of coffee, treats, and community spirit. Every cup and contribution will make a real difference.

We’re delighted to introduce the newest addition to our local baking community — Katya! 🍰

Katya brings a fresh burst of creativity and flavor, with treats that are as beautiful as they are delicious. From her rich, perfectly textured walnut cookies to her stunning coconut and mango mousse served in delicate chocolate cups, every bite is crafted with care and imagination. We are also continuing to enjoy the incredible bakes from our long standing bakers, whose passion and talent keep raising the bar week after week. It’s a joy to see such a vibrant mix of flavors, styles, and ideas coming together.

Student Summer Placement Scheme – Rita’s Kitchen, Moneygall Community Café

Rita’s Kitchen at Moneygall Community Café is delighted to announce a Student Summer Placement Scheme for 2026. We are offering two part-time positions, one for Saturdays and one for Sundays, providing a fantastic opportunity for students to gain valuable work experience in a friendly, community-focused environment.

About the Role
Successful candidates will assist with the day-to-day running of the café, including customer service, food preparation support, and maintaining a clean and welcoming space for all visitors. This role is ideal for students who enjoy working with people and want to develop practical workplace skills.

Key Details
- Positions Available: 2 (Saturday & Sunday roles)
- Contract Duration: 12 weeks (with a possible 4-week extension)
- Location: Rita’s Kitchen, Moneygall Community Café
- Start Date: Early summer 2026 (exact date to be confirmed)

Candidate Requirements
- Must be currently in full-time education (Transition Year Completed and above)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment

What You’ll Gain
- Hands-on work experience in a community café setting
- Development of customer service and teamwork skills
- A supportive and welcoming workplace environment
