Few things belong to Chennai the way the MTC bus does.

They move through every road, carrying a little bit of the city inside it. Conversations begin and end within a few stops. Some people ride the same route for years, becoming part of each other’s daily rhythm.

For generations, these buses have taken people to college, to work, to the beach and sometimes to Ratna Cafe.

Cities are built by big things but they are remembered through the small, everyday journeys that happen in between.
