Legend of the day: Devendra Jhajharia.
At the age of eight, he lost his left hand after accidentally touching an electric wire while trying to climb a tree. But today he stands proud with his 2nd Gold medal at Rio Paralympics(1st medal in Athens 2004).
He began participating in para-athletics in 1995 while in school. In 1997, Coach Ripudaman Singh identified his potential when he saw him competing in a school tournament and encouraged him to take up the sport seriously.
Jhajharia, has a long list of achievements to his name, born in Churu district in Rajasthan, he has made India proud again.

Legend of the day.
Deepa Malik became India's first female Paralympic medalist after winning the Silver in the F-53 shot put event at Rio Paralympics on Monday. The 45-year-old has won a total of 54 national gold medals and 13 international medals in swimming, javelin throw and shot put. Notably, a spinal tumour left Deepa paraplegic and confined her to a wheelchair in 1999.
