Solpon Solpon is the creation of Mrs. Thinlay Zangmo, a graduate of IHM-Kolkata.

The name “Solpon” is a title that was conferred upon Thinlay’s beloved uncle by the 16th Karmapa. Born and raised at Rumtek, she saw his complete dedication in taking care of the Karmapa’s most personal needs and is inspired to share the same level of personalized service and attention to detail that Solpon La continues to offer. With her vast knowledge and experience gained from home and abroad w

orking at the best establishments, Thinlay wishes to bring the best tasting food at your table. Solpon features simple meals that she grew up with incorporating the best techniques that peak our senses. Her menu is driven by a minimalist approach to ingredients that express their fullest character. She is inspired to use locally sourced seasonal ingredients that are organic and sustainable. Thinlay aspires for environmental harmony and delicious food through partnership with farmers who grow and harvest food with methods that are ecologically sound by taking care of our lands for future generations. Solpon is committed to preserving and promoting local food traditions, while also foraying into regional and international cooking methods that enrich our dining experience. Through her menu pages Thinlay hopes to pass local food knowledge and traditions to future generations.
