Dragon Boat Festival is around the corner.
we celebrate with one of our favorite traditional treats — zongzi (sticky rice dumplings)!
Wrapped in bamboo leaves and filled with delicious goodness — whether it's savory pork and yellow dal or sweet red bean — each bite is rich, comforting, and full of tradition.
But did you know why we eat zongzi during this festival? It’s to honor Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet from ancient China. When he drowned himself in protest, people threw rice into the river to feed his spirit and keep fish away from his body. Over time, that evolved into these tasty dumplings we now enjoy every year.
Soft, sticky, fragrant, and packed with meaning — zongzi is more than food. It’s a symbol of remembrance and unity.
Have you had yours yet?
