Save nature & Save The universe 🙌
A 41-year-old woman, who was recently discharged from Get Well Hospital in Nagpur after batting Covid, has vowed to plant and conserve more than 10 trees as a means to give back to nature.
TOI quoted the woman saying, "I have resolved to plant and conserve more than 10 trees this year. Covid has made me realise the cost and importance of oxygen that we get free of cost from nature."
This comes after an appeal was made on the patient's discharge summary.
"You have consumed 1,44,000 litre oxygen to recover. Now plant 10 trees to give it back to nature," read the appeal.
Dr Rajesh Swarnakar, who heads the hospital, expressed that people don't understand the value of oxygen unless we desperately need it.
"This is the most appropriate time to make people realise the importance of planting trees which not only give us oxygen to live but also clear the polluted air," he said.
