There are very few places in Pune which serve Parsi delicacies and Mancho’s Fries is one of them, in fact this place tops the list when it comes to authenticity and taste of the food! CityShor had the best of food pleasures while shooting (read Eating) the food over here.

Parsi cuisine is all about retaining the original flavours of the ingredients without using much of spices and hotness in the recipe. That’s the real challenge with these lip-smacking delicacies like Dhansak, Patra-ni-machhi, Chicken Salli and Chicken Farcha! The people over here have mastered the recipes but still manage to give you that homely taste since all the recipes are controlled by a Parsi family.

The only thing that may make you sad is these Parsi dishes are available only on Sundays and get over very soon. So you literally have to book food the earlier day. We also suggest that you give them a call a day prior (i.e. today) so you get the food for sure.

We would say this is THE MOST GENUINE non-vegetarian place in Pune. Mancho’s Grills & Fries run by Rohaan Mubaraka and his aunt Tanaz Irani is literally a HIDDEN GEM in the by-lanes of MG Road if you are looking for that real taste and freshly made chicken!

So what do we actually mean by genuine? This place takes orders on weight, weigh it in front of you and grill or fry right there before you. Isn’t that the safest way to eat non-veg outside? You get to see the complete kitchen of this take away place, work being done in the most strict and hygienic atmosphere possible.

The recipes are authentic to the core, masalas are fresh, chicken is fresh and marinated for sufficient time and ingredients are of the topmost quality. What else do you need? Some variety, right?

Their take away menu goes like this,

Rice & Gravy: Chicken Biryani (Dum cooked), Chicken Gravy of the day.

Grill Menu: chicken tikka, Cheese malai tikka, Leg Grilled, Chicken Seekh Kebab.

Fry Menu: Chicken fry, Leg Chicken Fry, Chicken Lollypops, Chicken Cutlets, Kheema Kebab, Kheema Samosas, Kheema Chinese samosas.

We tried almost each and every dish on the menu and couldn’t stop ourselves for going for more! Every item is lip-smacking and teases your taste-buds especially since it is grilled or fried right before you.

Grills and fries are available from 6pm to 10.30pm and Biryani n Gravy is available throughout day.
