At Fresify, our dream was simple—bring fresh, locally sourced meat to the people of Kashmir. We wanted to give our community a healthier, safer alternative. But the reality we faced was heartbreaking.
When we approached restaurants in the city, almost all refused. They told us fresh, local meat was “too expensive” and “too risky.” The truth is, the outside meat and chicken supply chain is controlled by a powerful network, making it nearly impossible for small, honest, local businesses like ours to survive.
What hurts the most is not just the market control it’s seeing that even many customers are not choosing health over convenience. At a time when doctors and research are warning us against frozen, long-stored meat, we should be moving toward healthier, fresher food for the sake of our children, our elders, and our community’s future.
Frozen products may be easier to store and sell, but they are dangerous not just for our health, but for our survival as a society. We are not here to fight the big, reputable brands that maintain quality. Our fight is for the right to bring pure, high-quality, safe meat to our own people.
We have done the research, invested the effort, and committed to quality but the lack of local support is what holds us back. If we truly care about the health of Kashmir, it’s time to stand together, support local businesses, and make choices that protect the next generation.
Fresify Fresh. Local. For Kashmir.
