Merry christmas from our family to yours our Svarta Kaffi people🎄🩷
The soups in our pots today are traditional and have been on this day, Þorláksmessa since 2003.

Creamy mushroom soup and our famous reindeer soup.
Those two soups have always been, and will always be on this day.

We open our doors at 11:30 and will be serving you soups in a bread bowl all day long. Hopefully the weather God will be with us today so you can stroll down Laugavegur in your christmas spirit.

We are closed tomorrow, 24th, 25th and 26th of december, but will be open again on the 27th at 11:30.

Gleðilegan þjóðhátíðardag elsku Ísland! Vissuð þið að það hefur rignt á 60% af þeim 17.júní dögum sem við höfum haldið hátíðlega🤣
Elskum að Ísland veldur ekki vonbrigðum í dag. Rigning og grátt. En í 100% af þeim skiptum sem Svarta Kaffið hefur verið opið hefur gómsæt súpa verið í pottunum sem er borin fram í fersku brauði.
Allt eins og það á að vera.

Súpur dagsins:
Í einum potti kraumar kjötsúpa með chilli fennel & kóriander og í hinum kartöflu og blaðlaukssúpa.
Opnum á slaginu 11:30! Gott að hlýja sér á súpu eftir göngu í bænum...nú eða áður en gangandi hefst.
........
Happy National Day, dear Iceland!
Did you know it has rained on 60% of all June 17th celebrations we've held? 🤣
We love that Iceland never disappoints—today it's rainy and grey, as expected.

But in 100% of the times that Svarta Kaffið has been open, there’s been delicious soup simmering in the pots—served in fresh bread bowls.
Just the way it’s supposed to be.

Soups of the Day:
One pot holds meat soup with chili, fennel & coriander, and the other has potato and leek soup.

We open sharply at 11:30!
Perfect for warming up after a walk downtown… or before it even begins.
