Aperto da Natale a Pasqua e Maggio fino a Novembre. Raggiungibile a piedi in ca. 40 minuti a partire da Saltria o da Compatsch. Fermata dell' autobus nelle immediate vicinanze. Mercoledì giorno di riposo

Maria Plunger machte ca 1930 eine Lehre als Köchin im Bozner Gasthaus “Sargon”. Danach übernahm sie als junge Wirtin das “Dopolavoro” in Kastelruth, wo sie Josef Rauch kennenlernte und heiratete. Zusammen bewirtschafteten sie den “Saltner” in Saltria.
Als Köchin kam sie viel umher, zum “schwarzen Adler” in Brixen, “Werners Weinstube” in Meran, Bad Ratzes, Gröden, Prad sowie “Schloß Labers” wo sie für Otto von Habsburg kochte.
1965 eröffnen sie die Rauchhütte

Winter 1965 /66 - Maria & Josef Rauch heißen die ersten Gäste auf der neu erbauten Rauchhütte Willkommen. Die wenigen Skifahrer und Langläufer schliefen in Stockbetten oder in der Gaststube. Um auf die Piste zu kommen, musste erst mal zu Fuß zum Panorama- oder Florianlift gelaufen werden.
