Peppino di Capri è stato uno straordinario autore e interprete della musica italiana e napoletana. Le sue canzoni immortali hanno accompagnato intere generazioni. Anche la comunità di Cuccaro Vetere lo saluta con grande affetto, nel ricordo di uno straordinario concerto nella nostra comunità che ospitammo nei primi anni 2000. Il suo posto ora e' nell'Olimpo dei grandi artisti partenopei che hanno scritto pagine di storia della musica

Waking up in Suite dell’Abate
Of all the rooms in the Convento, this is the one for which the name felt most natural.

In religious tradition, the Abate (Abbot) was a figure of guidance, balance, and responsibility: the one entrusted with caring for a place, shaping its life, and in many ways embodying its highest authority.

That is why it felt like the right name for the largest suite at Convento Francescano.
Not only because of its size, but because of the sense of quiet presence, centrality, and calm it carries with it.

The Abate Suite was conceived in this spirit: as a space of breadth, light, and stillness, still holding something of the history and atmosphere of this place.

Leggere parole come quelle di Marta Sader sul Cilento ci fa, allo stesso tempo, sorridere e sentire molto orgogliosi.

Come capirete meglio leggendo l’articolo, il modo in cui ha raccontato questa terra l’anno scorso, dopo essere stata la prima giornalista a ve**re al Convento Francescano, e ancora di più una delle prime a livello internazionale, è qualcosa che ci è rimasto dentro.

Vedere che, a distanza di un anno, ricorda ancora così bene tutto quello che ha visto, vissuto e sentito qui — al Convento e in Cilento — e che senta ancora il desiderio di parlarne, ci riempie di orgoglio e gratitudine.

Per noi è stato un vero onore avere qui Rocco Hunt.

Al di là dell’artista che tutti conoscono, Rocco è prima di tutto un ragazzo perbene. Alberto lo aveva conosciuto anni fa a Milano, quando lavorava nel mondo della musica, e ritrovarlo oggi qui, al Convento Francescano, ha avuto per noi un significato ancora più bello.
Siamo felici che abbia scelto di venirci a trovare e di scoprire non solo il nostro progetto, ma anche Cuccaro Vetere, il nostro piccolo paese, e questa parte di Cilento che cerchiamo ogni giorno di raccontare con rispetto e amore.

Lo diciamo con sincerità: persone come lui ci toccano da vicino anche per quello che rappresentano. Perché Rocco, con la sua musica e con il suo modo di essere, è un bell’esempio per tanti ragazzi e non solo. Un artista che non ha mai avuto bisogno di costruirsi sull’eccesso o sul cattivo esempio, ma che ha saputo parlare spesso di cose vere, di radici, di Sud, di partenze obbligate, di storie che in fondo sentiamo molto vicine anche alla nostra.
E per questo non possiamo che ringraziarlo ancora di più.

Viviamo nella regione più bella del mondo. E sabato sera la raccontiamo attraverso il vino.

Il 18 luglio, al Convento Francescano di Cuccaro Vetere, The Wine Table accoglierà Villa Raiano per una serata dedicata a una delle espressioni più autentiche e profonde del vino campano.

Sarà un incontro tra due terre della stessa anima: l’Irpinia, con le sue vigne, le altitudini e i suoi grandi vitigni, e il Cilento interno, con il silenzio del chiostro, la tavola condivisa e un’idea di ospitalità fatta di tempo, racconto e identità.

In Cuccaro, speaking of San Pietro means far more than speaking of a church or a patron saint’s feast.

It means speaking of one of the deepest parts of the village’s identity.

Because here, San Pietro is not only a religious figure, but a living thread of collective memory — part of the processions, the gestures, the stories, and the devotion that have shaped generations of life in the village. It is no coincidence that his feast remains one of the most deeply felt moments of the year.

Cuccaro is one of those places where history does not remain still.
It lives in the stone, in the churches, in the paths and the views, in the convent, and in the quiet details that time leaves behind.

And the Church of San Pietro is one of the places where all of this can still be felt most clearly.

A few moments from these last days — the bell tower, the pool, the village, the landscapes, and the quiet life that continues to unfold around Convento Francescano.

This is the time of year when everything feels fuller: warmer light, longer days, and that particular balance of Southern Italy where summer is present, but still softened by the altitude, the evenings, and the rhythm of Cilento.
