Not Your Ordinary Chicken
I’ve always been a lover of chicken wings, but I was faced with this sad dilemma: there was no particular restaurant to really enjoy them. Everyone’s wings were done in the same way with no variation in flavours. Inspired by this, I came up with this idea for a restaurant which didn’t serve just your ordinary, copycat chicken wings. Oh no! This restaurant would focus on
original tastes and flavours that would wake up your taste buds and leave you full and content! With help from a close friend of mine from the USA (and part owner), Diane, we set out on a 6 month project to research different sauce recipes and flavours to come up with perfect choices to complement our chicken dishes. Diane had always been an avid fan of my mother’s cooking and raved about it being the best in all of Sri Lanka – if not the world. She had always said that my mother, Chooty, should open her own restaurant because it would be an instant hit! With a better idea of what types of flavours we wanted to pursue, we enlisted my mum’s help, and she perfected our marinade and sauce recipes. The several distinct sauces we created gives a whole new twist on the boring old wing flavours. We’ve even added two Sri Lankan flavours: Kochi and Devilled! Shortly after opening with chicken wings, we introduced two sizes of complete meals served with fried rice or chapati, as well crispy chicken wings, chicken popcorn, and devilled chicken sausages. We also have side orders of french fries, fried rice, and chapati and two drinks: Coke and Sprite. We also added chicken hot dogs served with one of your favourite special sauces. These have been a huge success! Initially we started as a home base-business, but because of overwhelming demand for our products at the perfect pricing, we opened a small take-away outlet in December of 2019, expanding our availability out of our already well established UberEats platform. One day we aspire to establish multiple outlets around the world and be globally recognized as a Sri Lankan-born takeaway chain. We quickly have become an overnight sensation. We are confident you, too, will enjoy every savoury bite.
