Rive Ganga was born during the pandemic while the world was on pause, this little champ was ready to shake things up.

When the world opened, he came to Sri Lanka one trip turned into many. He fell in love with the people, the vibes, the chaos, the beauty everything. 🇱🇰❤️

Sure, there were challenges, late nights, and plenty of muchan are we crazy?moments. But the people of Sri Lanka never gave up on Ganga. They fought with him, supported him, and together something magical was born. ✨

And this year Gami was born 🍣From a tiny idea to a must-stop Japanese spot, with the second location already on the way. Not bad for a dream fueled by love for Sri Lanka, ah? 😏

Today we celebrate Rive the pandemic baby, the island lover, the dreamer who made it all happen.

From the whole Gami team, we promise to keep grinding, keep fighting, and keep spreading Gami across this beautiful island.

Not all heroes wear hats.
Some carry islands.

Meet Lizzet the heart behind GAMI.

She first arrived in Sri Lanka in 2007, during wartime. What was meant to be a brief stopover became a lifelong connection. She didn’t just visit the island she chose it.

A child psychologist, healthy food coach, and mother of two, Lizzet carried this journey across borders, cultures, and challenges. Traveling to Sri Lanka repeatedly with her children was never easy but her love for the country made every step worth it.

For her, success was never only about profit. It was about community creating opportunities, building livelihoods, and giving back to the island that gave her so much. Through her work, she helped shine a light on Sri Lanka in the Netherlands, supporting tourism and cultural exchange.

An iron lady with a soft heart, she embraced two cultures, raised two beautiful children Ganga Mihiri and never once gave up on this island.

And now, from that journey, GAMI is born.
In just one month, it’s already glowing in Mirissa.

Come experience one of the finest Japanese Izakaya concepts on the island built on resilience, purpose, and love.
