Not much snow and the temperatures are balmy but the sounds of horses and stabled cows in the village are the same as every winter. Honour system kiosks selling cheeses, fresh milk and cured meats. Candles on doorsteps at night. Traditional Christmas lighting throughout. Strangers greeting each other. Happiness
