Dear Guests, Supporters, Friends, and Families,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Inle Heritage, effective December 31, 2024. After 15 years of growth, learning, innovation, and heartfelt connections with visitors, students, researchers, and supporters, this chapter of our journey is coming to an end.
Inle Heritage was founded as a self-funded project, reinvesting its income into impactful initiatives for youth development, community empowerment, nature conservation, and cultural preservation as a non-profit organization. What began as a project to safeguard the unique Burmese cat breed, reintroduced to Inle Lake by the China Exploration and Research Society (CERS) in 2008, soon evolved into a broader vision. We sought to inspire both our local community and visitors from around the world, showcasing the beauty and fragility of Inle Lake during a time of rebuilding and hope for our nation.
Recognizing the high costs of sustaining heritage preservation, we expanded in 2010 to include a café, a gift shop, a restaurant, and stilt houses as accommodation. This addition allowed us to generate income while sharing cherished grandmother recipes from the Inle region. Authenticity was at the heart of our culinary offerings, so we established a backyard garden to grow fresh, seasonal ingredients, just as our grandmothers did. This practice inspired us to explore sustainable agricultural methods on the man-made floating gardens within the compound of Inle Heritage.
Visitors often asked if our produce was organic, prompting us to delve deeper into understanding soil and water quality. Our findings revealed not only issues with water quality but also significant threats to the lake’s biodiversity: its plants, flowers, fauna, insects, and aquatic life. These discoveries motivated us to raise awareness among children, communities, and visitors about the importance of protecting Inle Lake. Along the way, our curiosity led to the collection of detailed water quality data over several consecutive years, monitoring 18 different parameters.
Building on these experiences, we initiated projects to promote sustainable waste management practices, such as grey-water treatment, and to emphasize the dangers of excessive single-use plastics, pesticides, and fertilizers. We also built an aquarium to showcase the endemic fish species of Inle Lake, collaborating with scholars, researchers, and local fishermen whose traditional knowledge provided invaluable insights. This initiative became an engaging and enjoyable way to educate children and visitors, encouraging curiosity, sparking questions, and fostering a deeper appreciation and awareness of the natural heritage surrounding us.
Over the years, our work expanded to include numerous interconnected initiatives that addressed both environmental and social challenges. This scientific approach to conservation was complemented by practical solutions, including demonstration projects for sustainable farming techniques and waste management systems that could be replicated by local businesses and communities.
Our heritage preservation efforts went beyond environmental conservation to include cultural initiatives. Through our facilities and programs, we helped document and preserve traditional Inthar recipes, crafting techniques, and agricultural practices. The gift shop provided a platform for local artisans to showcase their work, while our culinary programs helped keep traditional cooking methods alive for future generations.
While caring for the Burmese cats, we became increasingly aware of the broader needs of the communities around Inle Lake. This realization led us to focus on empowering the next generation of youth who could carry forward the mission of preserving Myanmar’s natural and cultural heritage. By providing alternative learning opportunities and fostering a sense of responsibility, we sought to ensure that our efforts would inspire sustainable change.
A particular point of pride for us has been the Inle Heritage Vocational Training program, an impactful initiative that created opportunities for youth who might otherwise have been left behind. We became the first school in Myanmar to welcome high school dropouts, offering them a chance to gain valuable skills and rediscover their potential. This bold step not only transformed the lives of many students but also inspired other education projects in the country to follow suit, broadening access to learning and hope. We are also honored that Inle Heritage serves as the only National Skills Standards Authority (NSSA) Center in Shan State.
To our 336 former vocational students, we hope you will pay it forward and continue to do good with the knowledge you gained at Inle Heritage. We wish for you to thrive and find success in whatever paths you choose. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey, for allowing us to learn about the challenges faced by your generation, and for helping us craft better learning systems. Your insights have prepared us to better support the next generation, and we are inspired by all we have learned from you.
We found great satisfaction in delivering exceptional service and unique experiences to visitors while also investing in youth development and community impact. So we would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to all our visitors who walked through our doors, those who stayed, dined, shopped, or even learned to cook with us. Your support has been the heartbeat of Inle Heritage, allowing us to share our passion for this extraordinary region and its traditions. Each visit, conversation, and shared experience has not only allowed us to be self-sustaining but also strengthened our mission and brought immeasurable joy to our journey.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to every incredible member of the Inle Heritage team since the beginning. Your unwavering dedication, creativity, and resilience have made these unconventional projects not only possible but truly transformative. Your courage to challenge norms and find meaningful solutions has been a driving force in our collective success. Together, we built more than just a place; we built a community, a vision, and a legacy. You have shown incredible adaptability and positivity in the face of challenges, and for that, we are endlessly grateful. We are proud of everything we achieved together and trust that these experiences will inspire and guide you in the future.
This closure comes as we face insurmountable challenges, including the aftermath of COVID-19 and the constraints imposed by the current situation in Myanmar. Despite these difficulties, we choose to celebrate what we have accomplished together. Though Inle Heritage is closing its doors, we trust that its legacy will endure in the hearts and actions of all who have been touched by its mission. We choose to honor the vision that brought us here and to carry its spirit forward into new endeavors. We sincerely hope that the seeds planted through Inle Heritage, seeds of environmental stewardship, cultural pride, and youth empowerment, will continue to grow in ways we cannot yet imagine.
As we say goodbye to this chapter, we are reminded of the lotus that graces Inle Lake. Its journey, from budding to blooming, and eventually fading, reflects the cycle of life and the grace of endings. In each stage, there is beauty, purpose, and meaning. Let us hold this image in our hearts as we move forward, inspired by the resilience and dignity of nature’s rhythms.
Thank you for being part of this journey, for believing in our mission, and for sharing in the story of Inle Heritage. As we close this chapter, we look forward with hope, gratitude, and the promise of new beginnings.
In the end, we can be mindful of three things:

လွန်ခဲ့တဲ့ ၁၅ နှစ်တာကာလမှ အင်းလေးအမွေအနှစ် ဖောင်ဒေးရှင်းရဲ့ လုပ်ငန်းများ တိုးတက်ခြင်း၊ လေ့လာသင်ယူခြင်း၊ ဆန်းသစ်တီထွင်ခြင်းတို့ကို တစ်ထောင့်တစ်နေရာကနေ အတူတူ လုပ်ကိုင်ရင်း နှလုံးသားခြင်းနီးစပ်ခဲ့ကြတဲ့ ဧည့်သည်တော်များ၊ ကျောင်းသူ ကျောင်းသားများ၊ သုတေသီများ၊ ပံ့ပိုးကူညီကြသူများကို အင်းလေးအမွေအနှစ်ဖောင်ဒေးရှင်းရဲ့ လုပ်ငန်း လုပ်ဆောင်နေမှု ခရီးစဉ်ကို အခုလာမည့် ၂၀၂၄ ခုနှစ် ဒီဇင်ဘာလ ၃၁ ရက်နေ့ကစတင်ပြီး အပြီးသတ် ရပ်နားရမည့်အကြောင်း အသိပေးပြောကြားရတာ အင်မတန်ဝမ်းနည်းရပါတယ်။
အင်းလေးအမွေအနှစ်ဖောင်ဒေးရှင်းကို ကိုယ်ပိုင် ရင်းနှီးငွေများနဲ့ စတင်ခဲ့ပြီး အကျိုးအမြတ်ထက် လူငယ်များဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်ရေး၊ ရပ်ရွာ အဝန်းအဝိုင်းပိုမို တိုးတက်လာစေရေး၊ သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင် နှင့် လူမျိုးစုနှင့် ဒေသတွင်း ထုံးတမ်း အစဉ်အလာများကို မပျောက်ပျက်အောင်ထိန်းသိမ်းရေး စသည့် လုပ်ငန်းများ လုပ်ကိုင်နိင်ရန်အတွက် အခြား လုပ်ငန်းများမှ ရရှိလာသော အကျိုးအမြတ်များကို ပြန်လည်ရင်းနှီးမြှုပ်နှံခြင်းဖြင့် စတင်ခဲ့သော လုပ်ငန်းဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ လုပ်ငန်းရဲ့ အစပြုမှုဟာ Chian Exploration and Research Society (CERS) အဖွဲ့အစည်းရဲ့ ကမကထပြုမှုနဲ့ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံမှာမတွေ့ရတော့တဲ့ မြန်မာ့မျိုးရင်း ဗမာကြောင် ကို မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင် ပြန်လည်ရောက်ရှိစေရန် နှင့် အများသူငါလေ့လာသိရှိစေရန် ရည်ရွယ်ပြီး ပြန်လည်ခေါ်ဆောင်လာခြင်းမှ စတင်ခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ထိုမှတဆင့် ပိုမိုကျယ်ပြန့်သော လုပ်ငန်းများကို လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့ပြီး ပြည်တွင်းပြည်ပမှ လာရောက်လည်ပတ်ကြသူများကို အင်းလေးကန်ရဲ့ ထင်ရှားတဲ့ အလှတရားများ၊ အပျက်အစီးမခံတဲ့ ဒေသအရင်းအမြစ်များကို ထိန်းသိမ်းစောင့်ရှောက်နေမှုများကို လက်တွေ့ပြသပြီး နိုင်ငံပြန်လည်တည်ဆောက်နေစဉ် ကာလမှာ မျှော်လင့်ချက်ရောင်ခြည်များ နှင့်အတူတူ အားကျအတုယူစေခြင်းများ ဖြစ်စေခဲ့ပါတယ်။
၂၀၁၀ ခုနှစ်မှာတော့ အမွေအနှစ်ထိန်းသိမ်းစောင့်ရှောက်ခြင်းလုပ်ငန်းများ ရေရှည်ရပ်တည် နိုင်ရန်အတွက် မြင့်မားသောကုန်ကျစရိတ်များကို ပြန်လည်ရရှိနိုင်ဖို့ရာ ပုံမှန်ဝင်ငွေ ရနိုင်သော စားသောက်ဆိုင်၊ အမှတ်တရပစ္စည်းဆိုင် နှင့်အတူတူ ဧည့်သည်များနားခိုနိုင်ရန်နှင့် အင်းလေးဒေသ လူနေမှုပုံစံကို လေ့လာနိုင်ရန်အတွက် ခြေတံရှည်အိမ်များ တိုးချဲ့ တည်ဆောက်လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဘိုးဘွားများမှတဆင့် မျိုးဆက် အဆင့်ဆင့်လက်ဆင့်ကမ်း ချက်ပြုတ်ခဲ့တဲ့ အင်းလေးဒေသရိုးရာအစားအစာများကို ရောင်းချရင်း အပိုဝင်ငွေများလည်း ရရှိခဲ့ပါတယ်။ စစ်မှန်သောအစားအသောက်ကို တည်ခင်းဧည့်ခံဖို့ရာ အစားအစာများ ချက်ပြုတ်ပြင်ဆင်ရာမှာ အဓိကကျသော လတ်ဆတ်သန့်ရှင်းစိတ်ချရသောသီးနှံများရရှိစေရန် ဘိုးဘွားများရဲ့ အိမ်နောက်ဖေး ဈေးဆိုင်တည်သော အလေ့အထအတိုင်း ရာသီပေါ် အသီးအရွက်များ နှင့် အခြား ဟင်းခတ်အမွှေးအကြိုင်များကို ရေပေါ်ကျွန်းမျောများနှင့် စိုက်ခင်းနေရာများတွင် စိုက်ပျိုးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ထိုအလေ့အကျင့်များမှတဆင့် ရေရှည်တည်တံ့သော စိုက်ပျိုးနည်းပညာများကို အသုံးပြပြီး အင်းလေးအမွေအနှစ်ခြံဝန်းအတွင်း တောင်သူများမှ တည်ဆောက်ထားသော ကျွန်းမျောများပေါ်တွင် စိုက်ပျိုးရန် အကြံကောင်းများလည်းရရှိခဲ့ပါတယ်။
စားသောက်ဆိုင်တွင်လာရောက်စားသုံးသော ဧည့်သည်များမှ အမြဲတမ်းမေးလေ့ရှိသော မေးခွန်းတစ်ခုမှာ တည်ခင်းဧည့်ခံသော ခြံထွက်သီးနှံများသည် ဓါတုမြေသြဇာနှင့် ပိုးသတ်ဆေးများ များအသုံးမပြုပဲ စိုက်ပျိုးထားသော အော်ဂဲနစ် အသီးအနှံများဖြစ်ပါသလား ဆိုသောမေးခွန်းကြောင့် စိုက်ပျိုးမြေကြီးနှင့် အင်းလေးကန်ထဲမှ ရေအရည်အသွေးကို ပိုမို နားလည်ရမည်ဆိုသော တွန်းအားအတွေးတစ်ခု စတင်ဖြစ်ပေါ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ စတင်စူးစမ်းမှုများ ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့ရာတွင် ရေအရည်အသွေးတွင် ပြဿနာရှိရုံမက အင်းလေးကန်ရဲ့ ဇီဝမျိုးကွဲများ၊ အပင်များ၊ ပန်းများ၊ အင်းဆက်များနှင့် ရေသတ္တဝါများကို ပျက်စီးသွားရန် ခြိမ်းခြောက်နေမှုများကို စိုးရိမ်ဖွယ်တွေ့ရှိခဲ့ရပါတယ်။ ထိုတွေ့ရှိမှုများမှတဆင့် အင်းလေးကန်ကို ထိန်းသိမ်း စောင့်ရှောက်မှုသည် မည်မျှအရေးကြီးကြောင်းကို ကလေးများ၊ လူမှုအသိုက်အဝန်းများနှင့် ဧည့်သည်များကို မီးမောင်းထိုးပြနိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ထိုမှတဆင့် အချက်အလက်များ ပိုမိုသိရှိစေရန်အတွက်အင်းလေးကန်ရေ အရည်အသွေးတိုင်းတာမှု ၁၈ မျိုးကို နှစ်စဉ် အဆက်မပြတ် နှစ်ပေါင်းများစွာတိုင်အောင် ပြုလုပ်နိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။
ထိုအတွေ့အကြုံများပေါ်အခြေခံပြီး သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင် ရေရှည်တည်တံ့စေရန်အတွက် အညစ်အကြေးနှင့် အမှိုက်များစွန့်ပစ်ခြင်း စီမံခန့်ခွဲမှုများကို လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဥပမာ စားဖိုဆောင်နှင့် အိမ်သာများမှစွန့်ပစ်သော ရေများကို သန့်စင်ပြီးမှ အင်းလေးကန်ထဲသို့ ရောက်ရှိစေသော သုံးစွဲပြီးရေသန့်ရှင်းရန်စီမံခန့်ခွဲခြင်း၊ တခါသုံးပလပ်စတစ်များ၊ ပိုးသတ်ဆေးများနှင့် ဓါတုမြေသြဇာများကို အသုံးမပြုခြင်း၊ စသည်များဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ထို့အပြင် ဒေသတွင်းငါးမျိုးစိတ်များကို ပြသထားသော ငါးပြတိုက်တစ်ခုကို ဒေသခံတံငါများ၊ ပညာရှင်များ၊ သုတေသီများနှင့် ပူးပေါင်းကာ အချက်အလက်များပြုစုပြီး အများသူငါလေ့လာနိုင်ရန် တည်ဆောက်ထားခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဒီအစပြုမှုဟာ လာရောက်လည်ပတ်သော ကလေးများ၊ ဧည့်သည်များကို စူးစမ်းလိုစိတ်များပိုမိုဖြစ်ပေါ်စေပြီး ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်မှာရှိတဲ့ သဘာဝအရင်းအမြစ်များကို ပိုမိုတန်ဖိုးထားလက်ခံ ကျေးဇူးပြုတတ်ဖို့ နေရာတစ်ခုဖြစ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။
လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့သော လုပ်ငန်းများ နှစ်ကြာလာသည်နှင့်အမျှ သဘာဝနှင့် လူမှုပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ဆိုင်ရာ စိန်ခေါ်မှုများကို ပိုမိုသိရှိလာပြီး ကာကွယ်မှုလုပ်ဆောင်ရန် လိုအပ်သည်များကို စတင် လုပ်ဆောင်နိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ထိုကောင်းမွန်သောလုပ်ငန်းစဉ်များကို လက်တွေ့အသုံးချပြီး ရရှိလာသော ရလဒ်များအရ ဒေသတွင်း လုပ်ငန်းများနှင့် လူမှုအဝန်းအဝိုင်း အတွင်းတွင် လက်တွေ့လိုက်နာကျင့်သုံးရန်အတွက် ဆင့်ပွားပေးနိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။
အမွေအနှစ်ထိန်းသိမ်းခြင်း လုပ်ငန်းများမှ တဆင့် သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ထိန်းသိမ်းရေးကို ကျော်လွန်ပြီး ယဉ်ကျေးမှုဆိုင်ရာ ထိန်းသိမ်းခြင်းများအထိ လုပ်ဆောင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ စီစဉ်ထားသော လုပ်ငန်းစနစ်များ နေရာများနှင့် လုပ်ငန်းအစီအစဉ်များမှတဆင့် အင်းသားရိုးရာ ဟင်းချက်နည်းများကို စာအုပ်ပြုစုခြင်း၊ လက်မှုလုပ်ငန်းများအတွက် နည်းစနစ်များ မှတ်တမ်းတင်ခြင်း တို့အပြင် ကောင်းမွန်သော စိုက်ပျိုးရေးနည်းစနစ်များကို မှတ်တမ်းတင်ခြင်းနှင့် ထိန်းသိမ်းစောင့်ရှောက်ခြင်းများ ပြုလုပ်နိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ထို့အပြင် ဟင်းချက်သင်တန်းများမှ ရိုးရာဟင်းချက်နည်းများကို ဖြန့်ဝေခဲ့ကြပြီး လက်ဆောင်ပစ္စည်း ဆိုင်မှလည်း ဒေသတွင်းလက်မှုပညာရှင်များအတွက် ဖန်တီးမှုများကို ပြသရောင်းချရန် အခွင့်အရေးများ စီစဉ်ပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။
ဗမာကြောင်များကို စောင့်ရှောက်ထိန်းသိမ်းနေရင်း အင်းလေးဒေသခံများအတွက် လိုအပ်ချက်များကို များစွားသတိထားမိစေခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ထိုသို့ သတိထားမှုမှတဆင့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံရဲ့ သဘာဝနဲ့ ယဉ်ကျေးမှုဆိုင်ရာ အမွေအနှစ်များကို ထိန်းသိမ်းခြင်းတာဝန်များကို မျိုးဆက်သစ်များကို လက်ဆင့်ကမ်းဖို့ အဓိကလုပ်ဆောင်ဖို့လိုတယ်ဆိုတာကို သိမြင်လာခဲ့ပါတယ်။ မတူညီတဲ့ သင်ယူမှုပုံစံတွေနဲ့ သင်ကြားပေးခြင်း၊ တာဝန်ယူတတ်ချင်စိတ်ကို ပြုစုပျိုးထောင်ပေးခြင်း များမှတဆင့် ရေရှည်တည်တံ့သော ပြောင်းလဲမှုလုပ်ငန်းစဉ်များကို လူငယ်များမှ အားကျ စိတ်ဝင်စားလာပြီး ထိုလုပ်ငန်းစဉ်များတွင်ပါဝင်လာရန်အတွက် လှုံဆော်မှုများရလာမည်လို့ ယုံကြည်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။
အင်းလေးအမွေအနှစ်ရဲ့ ဂုဏ်အယူရဆုံးလုပ်ငန်းတွေထဲက တစ်ခုကတော့ ဟိုတယ်သက်မွေးမှု သင်တန်းကျောင်းပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ဒီသင်တန်းကျောင်းဟာ လူငယ်များအတွက် ကောင်းမွန်သော ဘ၀ ရရှိဖို့ ထိရောက်သော စတင်ခြင်းတစ်ခုဖြစ်ခဲ့ပြီး အဓိကအားဖြင့် ဘေးဖယ် (သို့မဟုတ်)နောက် ချန်ထားခံရတော့မည့် လူငယ်များအတွက် နောက်ထပ်အခွင့်အရေး တစ်ခုအနေဖြင့် တန်ဖိုးရှိတဲ့ ပညာများနဲ့ သူတို့ရဲ့ လုပ်ဆောင်နိုင်စွမ်းကို ပြန်လည်ရှာဖွေဖို့ အတွက် ဒီကျောင်းကို တည်ထောင်ခဲ့ခြင်း လည်းဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ အခြေခံအထက်တန်းစာမေးပွဲမှာ ကျရှုံးခဲ့ပြီး လားရာပျောက်နေတဲ့ လူငယ်များကို နောက်ထပ်အခွင့်အရေးတစ်ခု ထပ်ပေးဖို့အတွက်ဖွင့်လှစ်ခဲ့တဲ့ မြန်မာပြည်ရဲ့ ပထမဆုံးသော ကျောင်းလည်းဖြစ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ထိုရဲရင့်သော ခြေလှမ်းများနှင့် လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်များက လူငယ်များစွာရဲ့ ဘဝကို ပြောင်းလဲနိုင်ခဲ့ရုံမက နိုင်ငံတွင်းရှိ အခြား ပညာရေးဆိုင်ရာလုပ်ငန်းများအနေဖြင့် ဥပမာယူပြီး ပိုမိုကောင်းမွန်ကျယ်ပြန့်သော သင်ယူခြင်းဆိုင်ရာ အခွင့်အရေးများနှင့် မျှော်လင့်ခြင်းများကို လူငယ်များအတွက် ဖန်တီး ပေးနိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။
အင်းလေးအမွေအနှစ် ဟိုတယ်သက်မွေးမှုသင်တန်းကျောင်းသည် ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်တွင် တစ်ခုတည်းသော အမျိုးသားအဆင့် အရည်အသွေးစစ်ဆေးရေးအဖွဲ့ အသိအမှတ်ပြု သင်တန်းဌာန တစ်ခုဖြစ်တဲ့အတွက်လည်း ဂုဏ်ယူရပါတယ်။
