I've learned something since moving to Mexico.
Canadians and Americans can disagree about absolutely everything.
Politics.
Hockey.
Whether "eh" is a complete sentence.
But say the words "Chicken Pot Pie".....and suddenly they're all moving in the same direction like seagulls chasing a dropped French fry.
It’s the closest thing I’ve seen to international peace
It's genuinely quite moving.

The chicken and the cow are heading into battle… but it’s less dramatic showdown and more like they’ve both turned up, seen the pastry, and quietly agreed to walk in single file.
No speeches. No heroics. Just two former animals making peace with their new life as “highly recommended dinner.”
You’ll take them home for later.
Later will not survive.
We’ll be there as usual. Same spot, same pies, same people confidently saying “just one” like they haven’t met themselves before.

This Friday, I’m slinging flaky Chicken & Mushroom pies. 🥧
Now, I know "Friday" means absolutely nothing to most of you because you’re retired in Mexico, your watches are purely decorative, and everyday is a Saturday. 🌴
But try to tear yourselves away from your grueling schedule of staring at the ocean, day-drinking, and arguing on the community page. Set an alarm between your morning coffee and your 2:00 PM hammock nap, and come grab a pie.

Is it really "Day Drinking" if the wine is wrapped in a golden, buttery hug?
This Friday, we’re unleashing the Beef Bourguignon Pies. We’re spending forty-eight hours braising beef in enough red wine to make a Frenchman weep with joy (and possibly lose his license).
Since our local community's hardest daily task is deciding which patio has the best shade, we’ve made the executive decision that you shouldn't have to use a fork. It’s a five-star French bistro dinner, but modified for people who haven't worn a pair of pants with a zipper since 2019.
The "Hard Truths" for Friday:
• The Filling: Beef so tender it has less structural integrity than your "plan" to finally learn Spanish this year.
• The Vibe: It’s sophisticated, it’s savory, and it pairs perfectly with doing absolutely nothing.
• The Logistics: Sold hot and ready to go, or uncooked if you want your house to smell like a Michelin-starred kitchen while you take a nap.
