Is it a fairytale I’m living in? Timeline reads like it should end in riches or happily ever after; but right now that seems like a land far far away I can’t quite forsee. I’m so grateful for that faithful day made me post my cooking adventures and recipes which I never in my wildest dreams thought would lead my life to where it is now. Her stroke of genius named my shop Delectable and registered me a Sdn Bhd too! Before I even knew If I wanted to pursue baking. She picked up the word from reading my blog postings and said I used the word a lot, she said “ it means Delicious and Delightful and that’s what you are” . So I guess that’s the whole back story in brief. ❤️🌷 www.cookingismypassion.blogspot.com makes me cringe so bad I can’t read them without flinching 🥲🫨 heh if you’ve known me from “Once upon a time..” please leave a comment I want to like it and send you hearts 💕 ❤️❤️

Feels silly to say it out loud; but any other business owners feel a little lonely at the top? If you’ve done any work for me before you’ve probably either met the first younger version of warm and loving Su in the early 2000’s, or had this distant blunt version that I am now. Regardless; if you’ve worked for me, i hope you know I genuinely cared for you, probably still think of you, and am waiting for you to text me cause I miss you. THe End 🫠🥹

Knowing what I know now, I can’t decide if that blind confidence did me good or dirty. Mistakes like these opened a new can of worms in the retail industry which I was oblivious to. I learnt about cash flow the hard way; I barely made it out the green side of the tunnel each month. Storage, wastage, depreciation.. those words found deeper meaning from my careless spending. I pulled up my pants and stepped up in desperation; I negotiated terms, made sales targets and took control of my books. 17 years later; I’m still here taking an online course on taxes, invoicing and struggling with cash flow as fragile as a 5 tier cake 🎂 😅 i know I probably should know better now having learnt from my past errors; but I am literally still committing the same crimes just in a larger scale🫠

17 years since my very first day at the Gardens Mall Delectable outlet. I wanted to simply say - Happy Birthday!! loud and proud to us but truth is I’ve been struggling personally to find the Happy in this years’ birthday 🫥 Years have gone by; day to day business operations and the shift in retail trends have finally began to weigh me down. Inevitably we’ve shifted much of our business model in the recent years to cater to online shopping and to create a more delivery focused company. Just like how I was at 23 years of age; I realise now I am still making s**t up as I go. 🫠🤣 Through the struggles and tough decisions I’ve had to make this 2026; I was feeling mentally beaten down. Last night; as I tried to make this anniversary post; i took the effort to reflect on my beginnings and the memories I sifted through put a BIG smile on my face. They were good good times with some good good people. For the sake of nostalgia and reigniting my passion that used to be; I’ll be posting little treasures I find from our Delectable archives in the days to come, and I hope you’ll follow along to cheer me on as I crank up that fire and positivity I honed in my youth ⭐️
