Signature Feature Dish - Beef Fillet Medallions, with boozy mushrooms.

Another dish that has been on our menu since the beginning. I’ve recently tweaked our mushroom recipe a little bit, so I thought I’d share how it’s done.

This dish is all about complimenting flavors, from the brandy in the mushrooms to the smokiness of the flame grill, it all comes together beautifully on the plate. Recommend with our hand cut fries or mashed potatoes, in either a 200g or 300g portion. It’s there, waiting for you.

Godenfang Banana Split - this is how we make it.
Brûlée banana, chocolate and salted caramel sauce, toasted nuts, brownie chunks, ice cream, more sauce and cream with a cherry on top. That’s just how we roll.

For sixteen years we’ve been in the restaurant industry, fourteen of which we have had Getrude on our team. I’ve told the story before, how she stared with us a pot wash as a fresh nineteen year old with a glimmer in her eyes, and quickly worked her way up through sheer determination and natural talent for cooking and leadership. For the last seven years she’s been our head chef at Godenfang, my sidekick, my right hand. Today was a bittersweet day, as we had to bid her farewell as she takes on the next step in her own journey. Getrude Henda we thank you for everything that you’ve brought to our table, your role in shaping Godenfang is immeasurable, and you have set the standard for chefs that succeed you. It has been a privilege working with you, and we know that your future holds great potential! Wishing you well. We’ll miss you G, so much ❤️

Crumbed Chicken Rollup - a Godenfang Classic Dish

Chicken breast is flattened and wrapped around a filling of cream cheese, mozzarella, spinach and bacon. Fried till melty inside then topped with a cheese sauce. Served with a side order of your choice - this one is always a comforting hearty meal. Permanently on our menu.

Training - Today it’s steaks. Linda, Maria and Johnny did a crash course in grilling steak today. We like to switch things up every now and then to keep things interesting for everyone, but learning the fundamentals is non negotiable. Our team is always keen to learn new skills and as long as they are keen, we’ll keep teaching 🙌
