WHY DO MANY HUSBANDS DIE BEFORE THEIR WIVES? 🤔
One factor we should not ignore is the pressure many African men face. Traditionally, a man is expected to provide for his family, often working tirelessly with little rest or vacation. Sometimes, he sends his wife and children on holiday while sacrificing his own comfort to keep providing.
Women generally live longer than men, although biology, lifestyle, stress, and other factors contribute to the difference.
Now, imagine a man returning home exhausted after a long day at work. His wife, wanting to show love, serves him a large plate of swallow, carbohydrates, and red meat. But is what we serve our husbands always what their bodies need, especially as they grow older?
Combine heavy eating, a sedentary lifestyle, chronic stress, and little exercise, and the risk of obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease can increase.
When illness eventually comes, changing lifelong eating habits may become difficult for both husband and wife.
This is not about blaming women! It is about understanding that love goes beyond serving delicious meals. Love also means helping our husbands eat wisely, exercise, rest, manage stress, and attend regular medical checkups.
Dear men, please take care of yourselves. Dear women, let us encourage our husbands to prioritise their health.
A man should not spend his entire life working to give his family a comfortable life, only to neglect his health and miss out on enjoying that life with them. ❤️
Let us learn to live well, not just work hard! 🙏
