😩 How My Client Asked for a Refund Because She and Her Boyfriend Broke Up!
Being a baker will teach you things they didn’t teach us in baking school. 😂
So, one day, a client reached out to me. She wanted to surprise her boyfriend on his birthday. Awwww, love was in the air. ❤️
I sent her some cake designs, and she picked a beautiful one for her man. Payment was made, and everything was set.
As a baker that keeps to time, I baked and covered the cake early morning before the delivery time, so I could meet up on time.
close to delivery time…
My phone rang.
“Hello Joy, is it possible for you to refund me?”
My people, for a complete 3 minutes, my brain stopped working. 😭
Refund ke?
After baking?
After decorating?
After writing the boyfriend’s name on the cake?
I calmly asked what happened.
That’s when she dropped the message.
“My boyfriend cheated on me. I don’t want to celebrate his birthday anymore.” 😔💔

See me, see another person’s relationship problem. 😂
I explained to her that I couldn’t refund the money because the cake had already been baked and customized according to her request.
The cake even had the boyfriend’s name on it.
How exactly was I supposed to sell it?
Who was going to buy a random cake with another person’s name on it? 😭
But sis was not having it.
She kept insisting on a refund.
I kept explaining.
She got angry.
Then she said something that shocked me.
“In fact, share it out!” 😩😂
And that, my dear people, is how the children on my street became unexpected beneficiaries of heartbreak cake. 🎂😭
Free cake for everybody!
The boyfriend lost a Birthday celebration.
The children gained free cake 😂
Till today, I still wonder…
