TOLHUISTUIN POP UP: This summer, we’re taking Stacks to the other side of the IJ. Starting June 12th, we’ll be serving food at Tolhuistuin every Friday and Saturday through August 15th. You can expect to see some of our classics like the chicken biscuit as well as a rotation of braised meats. Food is from 17:00 - 22:00, and drinks until midnight. We've also cooked up a little music programming, so stay tuned for details next week.

The fried chicken biscuit. Inspired by the gas stations of North Carolina and fast food stops like Bojangles. It’s southern-style food, done the Stacks way. The real star of the show is the Dutch buttermilk, which is in the biscuit and the fried chicken, and makes all the difference. MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH: This Sunday we're toasting all the moms out there. And because my mom (pictured above with my sis in 1974) can’t be here, we’ll make up for it with a glass of prosecco on the house for all the moms in attendance. You’ve done enough putting up with our s**t all these years, so it’s the least we could do. We’ll also have some nice special dishes and cocktails to suit. Looking forward to seeing you there. It started as a way to use the trim from our steaks and has now become a crowd favorite and a weeknight menu staple. Known by as the poor man’s dry-aged steak. WEEKNIGHT SPECIAL: COCONUT TAMARIND FISH. Grilled, butterflied Dorade w/ charred lime, coriander and chili lime dressing. The process starts with a hard roasted coconut and tamarind marinade, pulling from South Indian coconut chutneys w/ mustard seeds and curry leaves and a touch of caribbean influence w/ thyme, all spice, and madame jeanette. The same marinade is then cooked in ghee and pulled into a sauce with coconut milk.

Curated by , it includes wines from regions across Europe that are both approachable and affordable (Vinho Verde, Rioja, Loire, Beaujolais, Tuscany, Piemonte, Lazio, Puglia and more). We’ve got wild caught, North Sea Turbot on the menu this weekend. And most weekends, for that matter. Served bone-in, it’s roasted on the plancha and finished in the oven. We serve it with a nice lemon, brown butter caper sauce. Catch it before we make our seasonal menu change and it’s gone until the fall. Doors open at 5 PM, see you in a bit.
