JUNE 11TH IN SKEK!

Marnix Alexander DuCroock ‘El Holandaluz’ is a Dutch guitarist who has developed a new approach to flamenco. He calls this style psychedelic flamenco. This is music using techniques and sounds from flamenco, but with pop verse-chorus structures. On his studio albums, his fondness for Pink Floyd is clearly audible through the Roger Waters-esque soundscapes he adds to his songs.

❗️Anne Dijkema got cancelled❗️

But no worries, we have a new performance happening tonight 22:00 at Skek!

Diego Cañada is a Spanish saxophonist and composer based between Amsterdam, Madrid and Paris. His music breathes between jazz, flamenco, Afro-Cuban traditions and improvisation. In search of a language where rhythm, movement and emotion become one.

For this evening he will be presenting “Gestos” a collective project where the communication between dance and music interact in a organic way through calls and responses carrying a oniric story exploring the depthness of human behavior.

An inmmersive experience for letting go and allowing the body to feel and connect with yourself.

Hope to see yaaa

Saturday june 6th programme at ‘Skek:

16-17 Duo Tundmus is a nostalgic vocal-piano jazz duo by Lisanne Pappel on the piano and Gloria Elisabeth Jörberg on the vocals. The duo performs their original compositions with a sound inspired by Gershwin, Blossom Dearie and Caity Gyorgy. Their live-shows captivate you with their emotional heart-wrenching ballads to high energy swing tunes. It’s a glamorous show with a theatrical flair, which will have you leaving with a nostalgic smile on your face. For this performance in Skek they are joined by Džonija Zumente-Steele on the double bass and Tiago Greenleaf on the drums.

17-18 Lucas Dorado is a Swiss/Argentinian vibraphonist based in Paris, specializing in jazz and
Latin American music. Trained at the Jazz Institute Berlin under David Friedman and
holder of a European Jazz Master degree, he has performed across Europe, South Amer-
ica and Africa — including at the Berlin Philharmonic and New Morning Paris.
Winner of the 1st Jazz-Vibraphone Competition (Pescara, 2017) and the public prize at
Tonnerre de Jazz (2024), he has collaborated with artists such as Minino Garay, Randy
Brecker and Renaud Garcia-Fons. His debut album El Sueño was released in April 2025.
Lucas Dorado currently lives and works in Paris.

21:30-22:30 Sahil Laheja presents his compositions from his upcoming debut record ‘Deeply Personal’. The songs are shaped by his life experiences and brought to life through improvisation and honest expression. The music is rooted in melancholy and emotion, something that can’t be put into words but felt in the heart.

Friday june 5th progamme at ‘skek:

16-17 o’clock “Vanilla Caliente” is a Caribbean-inspired project created by bassist Gabriel Timar, exploring the golden era of 1950s and 60s Haitian music. The band has two sides: the “Vanilla” side, featuring smooth, introspective melodies that draw listeners into a soulful world, and the “Caliente” side, bringing lively, horn-driven music made to set the dance floor on fire. A versatile ensemble, Vanilla Caliente can perform as a full big band, a small intimate combo, or as a backing band, bringing warmth, energy, and Caribbean grooves to any setting

21:30-22:30 “BASTI BUNCH” When words cannot go as loud as you want the Basti Bunch comes to break the rules and set the stage on fire. This quintet blends an acoustic and electric sound that looks for a new sonority in the jazz fusion world, you can move along to the music but your ears and brain can also enjoy it.
Sebastian Vega is the leader/composer/bassist of the band and next to him is, Seppo Kitachev on guitar, Ilay Schachal on sax, Juyoung Byun on the keys and Finn Hughs on drums. We blend all our influences and each time a new composition arrives we just let the chemistry happen
