How can you tell if a cafe is good before you visit?

After 3,500 cafes reviewed for the Brew Routes map, the pattern is clear: consistent latte art and silky foam mean they care about details, and that care shows up in everything else.

If it doesn’t pass the eye test, it doesn’t make the map.

What’s the difference between a flat white, a latte, and a cappuccino?

They’re all the same drink. Espresso, milk, and foam. You’re just changing the ratios.

Flat white is barely any foam, cappuccino is more, latte is more milk. Once you see it that way, ordering gets easy.

The Flat White List.

We’ve had a lot of flat whites. Different cities, different countries, different cafes. These are the 10 that stuck with us.

What earns a spot? The feeling when you take the first sip. The milk texture. And the beans. You can always tell when someone’s using quality beans, even if it’s not your favourite roast. That part matters.

ＴＡＲＡＢＡ is number one for a reason. Every flat white there is mind blowing. We’ve been trying to find something that matches it for a while... Still looking.
